WASHINGTON, DC: A climate protester was thrown out of the room during an event hosted by the Harvard Institute of Politics on Friday, March 1, after he called Senator Joe Manchin a "sick f**k."

The climate activist organization Climate Defiance group later took to X (formerly Twitter) to post a video of the incident with the caption, "We just called Joe Manchin a sick f**k."

They added, "We humiliated him in front of a herd of Harvard elites. He squared up. We held firm. Barbaric murderer, hideous fiend, he torches humanity and laughs."

Protestor gets thrown to the ground by supposed Joe Manchin aide

Manchin's speech at the Harvard Kennedy School was cut short by at least six demonstrators from the climate activist organization Climate Defiance. The protestors apparently took issue with the Senator's backing of the 300-mile, contentious Mountain Valley Pipeline in West Virginia.

"You sold our futures and got rich doing it, you sick f**k", yelled one, causing Manchin to get out of his chair and confront the activist.

After hurriedly leaping between the two of them, a person, identified by some media sources as a security officer and by others as an assistant, shoved the protestor out a door and onto the ground, as per Salon

It was not immediately apparent if the protester had sustained any injuries from the altercation.

In the clip posted on Climate Defiance’s X (formerly Twitter) account, Manchin is heard asking the protesters "to sit down somewhere so we can talk," but they turned down the offer as one member said, "I’m not going to sit down. You’ve received more funding from fossil fuels than any other senator."

Internet reacts to activist calling Sen Joe Manchin 'a sick f**k'

Netizens seemed to have mixed reactions to the incident between Sen Manchin and the climate protestor.

One remarked, "Imagine posting this and thinking you’re the hero here," and another said, "The part where the dork got shoved out the door was hilarious."

An individual said, "Charges need to be filed against that bodyguard," apparently in support of the activist.

A person noted, "That was certainly humiliating."
