NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Thursday, a law professor of George Washington University and Fox News correspondent, Jonathan Turley, shared his thoughts on Hunter Biden’s indictment and how it “shatters” denials made by Joe Biden about his business dealings.

This came after special counsel David Weiss secured a nine-count indictment against Hunter for failing to pay over $1 million in taxes from 2016 to 2019 in California.

Following Turley’s remarks, Fox News host Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his conversation with the legal scholar.

However, the internet did not respond well to Turley’s statements as several X users took a brutal jibe at the professor.

Sean Hannity shares Jonathan Turley’s claims that Joe Biden has ‘lied’

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “It's 'clear the president has lied': @JonathanTurley,” quoting the professor.

Hannity’s tweet included a video from his interview with Jonathan Turley where the professor told the anchor, “The fact is that this is a circle that is getting tighter around the president. It is clear that the president has lied. He obviously lied during the first campaign when he said he had no knowledge of these dealings.”

Turley continued to talk about Joe Biden‘s having “lied” as he said, “Hunter himself contradicted that. Hunter’s associate said it was utter nonsense in recent statements after his testimony. He also said that his son didn’t make any money in China. That obviously is not true.”

During a hearing on July 26, Hunter Biden entered a not-guilty plea to two misdemeanor tax charges and a felony gun charge.

The plea bargain, which was initially announced on June 20, fell through after United States District Judge Maryellen Noreika raised concerns and questioned the integrity of the initial plea deal.

Turley pointed out, “There is a more serious problem here, and that is what the president knew of was not business dealings, it was corruption.”

The legal expert further explained, “That’s what influence peddling is. The United States has pushed international agreements to stop influence peddling in other countries, the United States believes it’s a leading source of destructive corruption. If the president knew that his family was engaging in that type of corruption, of course it’s serious.”

Turley suggested that the indictment could pose challenges for President Biden, even if Hunter escapes it.

Republican Representatives James Comer of Kentucky and Jim Jordan of Ohio, who chair the House Oversight Committee and House Judiciary Committees respectively, issued a threat to pursue contempt of Congress proceedings if Hunter Biden failed to appear for his scheduled deposition on December 13.

Turley told Hannity, “We are looking at two events next week. One is when Hunter Biden is supposed to appear, that may now be effectively scuttled.”

“Hunter may be able to use this to plead the fifth, to refuse to answer questions. But the second event is the expected vote on the impeachment inquiry. This indictment might make it easier for Hunter not to speak, but it may make it more difficult for President Biden to avoid that inquiry,” noted the professor.

He concluded by declaring, “The fact is that this indictment shatters years of denials by the Bidens and frankly, by an enabling media.”

Internet blasts Jonathan Turley, calls him ‘cry baby’

After Sean Hannity shared his conversation with Jonathan Turley, who claimed that Joe Biden lied about his son Hunter’s business dealings, many X users took aim at the professor, questioning his credibility.

One person wrote, “Bahahahahahaha!!!!!!  Spoken from the Party of Liars!!!” and another questioned his credibility, stating, “Turley? So, no reliable source, huh?”

One more X user mocked Turley, adding, “And yet no evidence for an impeachment per Turley.” A fourth person wrote, “It is also clear that JT is a weak cry baby and a hypocrite and a disgrace to Northwestern! So there is that!”

An X user simply called out Turley, “Admitted liar talking about liars? Okay.” “Wtf the president is a father and protecting his son! You are a shameless traitor,” said another X user, as one more alleged, “It’s clear that Jonathan Turley has bought and paid for by Trump.”
