A mock hearing at George Washington University allegedly called for 'beheading'

As of Wednesday morning, May 8, DC police had arrested at least 35 people at the GWU, according to a Fox News report.

Several members at the encampment then held a mock court hearing to decide the fate of the administrators, according to The National Desk (TND).

The incident was recorded from an Instagram Live video on May 3 and has resurfaced on social media. In the video, an encampment leader rendered the fake verdict as a Bracey proxy sat before them.

GW President Ellen Granberg released a statement on Sunday, May 5, classifying the demonstration as an “illegal and potentially dangerous occupation of GW property.”

She added, "As a university, we are not equipped to single-handedly manage an unprecedented situation such as this. When unlawful activities go beyond these limits, we must rely on the support and experience of the DC Metropolitan Police Department.”

On Wednesday, May 8, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and police chief Pamela Smith are expected to testify before the House Oversight Committee to discuss the anti-Israel demonstration and potential safety concerns on the GWU campus, the publication reported.
