‘Truth hurts’: Internet divided after Don Lemon says Elon Musk does not answer people who don’t ‘look like him’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former CNN anchor Don Lemon, who has spent the last several days promoting his upcoming interview with Elon Musk, said that the SpaceX CEO is not used to being "held to account" and does not answer people who don’t "look like him." 

In an interview with People Magazine, the 58-year-old anchor opened up about the criticism the tech billionaire faces ahead of the release of his interview on March 18.

What did Don Lemon say about Elon Musk? 

On Sunday, March 17, Don Lemon fired back at Elon Musk, a day after the tech tycoon compared him to Veruca Salt for his disagreements on his now-canceled agreement with X.

In an interview with People, Lemon talked about Musk’s bitter persona, saying that the Tesla owner couldn’t handle the heat when he was asked to own up to past mistakes.

Lemon said, “For someone who doesn't care about what people write or say about him, he sure does care about what people write or say about him,” before adding “He’s not used to being held to account. He’s not used to having to answer to anyone, especially someone like me who doesn’t share his worldview, who doesn’t look like him.”

Lemon even went on to say that he believed Musk would be naive if he thought questions about diversity wouldn't come up. The former CNN anchor also claimed he really believes in free speech while Musk doesn't.
