Internet split as royal expert compares Meghan Markle to ‘narcissistic’ Wallis Simpson, calls Harry ‘weak’
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: A royal biographer has thrown shade at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry while discussing her book, ‘George VI and Elizabeth: The Marriage That Saved the Monarchy’.
Sally Bedell Smith called the Duchess of Sussex “narcissistic” like Wallis Simpson and also referred to the Duke of Sussex as “weak” like Edward VIII, former King of England, who left the throne to marry Simpson, as reported by Daily Mail.

Smith reportedly said at the Oxford Literary Festival that “an American woman came into the picture and changed the dynamic of the whole thing,” referring to the feud between Prince William and Harry.
The 75-year-old journalist continued that though the situation between King George VI and his brother, and William and Harry were not the same, “I think there are similar feelings of betrayal that have resulted in William in particular being furious with his brother - with good reason.”
“In some respects, Meghan and the Duchess of Windsor have similar qualities: very narcissistic, very controlling, very dominating,” she asserted.
She also noted, “And if you read [the Duke of Windsor's] letters, you can see how weak he was and how much he needed a domineering woman, and it feels as if Harry is somewhat the same way.”
Smith then added, “The Duke of Windsor did a lot of harmful things [after his abdication]. He lied to his brother about how much money he had. For example, he was in the process of selling a huge amount of land at Sandringham just so he could pocket the money. It was those kinds of deceptions, as well as his behavior in general.”

Meanwhile, Smith's have garnered mixed attention online with a Facebook user commenting, “There is nothing weak about giving up the throne! It took courage and love.”
