NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Following former president Donald Trump's historic win in Iowa on Monday night, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow addressed her audience, providing an explanation for why her network opted not to broadcast his victory speech.

She emphasized that the decision was not driven by spite, seeking to assure viewers of the network's rationale.

Following this news, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to take a brutal jab at the “radical” Maddow’s commentary about Trump.

Sean Hannity on Rachel Maddow's MSNBC ‘meltdown’

Fox News host Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “MADDOW MELTS DOWN! MSNBC Doesn't Air Trump Victory Speech, Panel Flips Over 'Fascism' [WATCH]. MADDOW: "His remarks, tonight, will not air here live. We will monitor them and let you know about any news that he makes.”

Hannity’s tweet presented an article from his official website which stated that MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow explained to her viewers why they would not air his victory speech.

She said, “At this point in the evening the projected winner of the Iowa caucuses has just started giving his victory speech. We will keep an eye on that as it happens. We will let you know if there is any news made in that speech if there is anything noteworthy, something substantive and important.”

Maddow continued, “The reason I’m saying this is, of course, there is a reason that we and other news organizations have generally stopped giving an unfiltered, live platform to remarks by former President Trump.”

“It is not out of spite, it is not a decision that we relish, it is a decision that we regularly revisit. And, honestly, earnestly, it is not an easy decision," she added.

The host then went on to claim that airing Trump’s “untrue” statements live will hurt MSNBC’s brand.

She said, “But there is a cost to us, as a news organization of knowingly broadcasting untrue things. That is a fundamental truth of our business and who we are. And so, his remarks, tonight, will not air here live. We will monitor them and let you know about any news that he makes.”

After Maddow’s comments against Trump, Hannity called her out for her “descent into the deep end.”

Hannity said in his monologue, “The 45th president won the state with a historic 30-point margin, getting the most votes of 98 out of 99 Iowa counties.”

“As you just heard during his victory speech, Donald Trump struck what was a unifying tone. Uh, but apparently, according to part-time make-believe journalists and full-time left-wing, hate-Trump conspiracy theorists like radical Rachel Maddow, Trump's speech was too dangerous for the fragile ears of NBC's loyal viewers,” he quipped.

Hannity continued, “They didn't take any of the speech live. Instead, no, Miss Maddow was lecturing Americans about truth and integrity.”

He then slammed Maddow, “This is a joke, right? Serious question: Does Maddow not have any self-awareness at all? No one in the media mob has peddled more lies, more conspiracy theories than Rachel Maddow.”

“Every night for about five solid years, and it still goes on to this day, Maddow proudly donned that tinfoil hat and spread some of the most insane, craziest conspiracy theories that we've ever heard,” he added.

Hannity further explained, “Now, she denied the legitimacy of the 2016 election, an election denier, telling her viewers that it was hacked by Vladimir Putin. She also suggested that Russia was in charge of our federal government and that Donald Trump was a Russian agent.”

Internet calls Rachel Maddow a ‘loser’

Many X users blasted Maddow after she explained why the network won’t air Donald Trump’s Iowa victory speech.

One person wrote, “Main Stream media? What are they going to do when he's President?” while another said, “Communist MSNBC does anyone even watch any longer?”

An X user s, “So they can edit everything,” and another called out Maddow, “She’s a loser who cares.”

One more person slammed Maddow, “Imagine anyone at this point thinking @maddow knows what she's talking about. Seriously,” and another wrote, “Madow and MSNBC probably donate to Trump's campaign under the table - if he's elected it's a ratings free for all.”

An X user expressed their frustration, “So MSNBC gets to decide what we should hear. Two words, Bite Me!!” and another wrote, “I thought that the job of a reporter was to present the news not sensor the news and tell you what was the truth.”
