TAMPA, FLORIDA: Elon Musk has officially reinstated the X (formerly known as Twitter) account of far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who was previously banned from the social media platform in 2018.

Musk had shared a poll on X, where he let the user vote for and against Jones’ reinstation, and after 70% of votes inclined towards “yes,” Musk said, “The people have spoken and so it shall be,” and so, X saw the return of Jones.



 

Several people have shared their reactions to the same, including conservative host Benny Johnson, who spoke about the “right to freedom of expression,” as he welcomed Jones on the platform, and the internet was thrilled.

On X, following the return of Alex Jones, conservative host Benny Johnson shared his remarks on the same.

Johnson wrote, “Alex Jones has the same right to freedom of expression that you do. News flash — you don’t have to agree with every person on the internet to think that they should be allowed to have a voice here.”



 

“While a tyrannical regime works overtime to censor and police your speech, there is one man who continues to protect and defend it,” added Johnson.

He also applauded Elon Musk in his post on X and continued, “Elon Musk is a hero of the Republic. Thank you for continuing to protect Free Speech on this platform.”

Johnson concluded his remarks as he officially welcomed Jones back X, “Welcome back @RealAlexJones.”

Internet reacts to Benny Johnson’s remarks on Alex Jones’ return

After Benny Johnson shared his remarks following Alex Jones’ reinstation on X, the internet was quick to respond as they expressed their happiness and shared their support for Jones, much like Johnson.

One user wrote, “Glad to see Alex Jones back and that @elonmusk did the right thing again,” and another wrote, “I agree with a lot of things @RealAlexJones says and disagree with a few. Most rational adults can differ. With that being said there's zero doubt he has a right to say them on an equal platform with everyone else. Don't like it? Don't read it...#AlexJones #CNN #FreeSpeech.”



 



 

“Return of the real,” responded one user, and another wrote, “This is a huge step forward for free speech and letting the people decide for themselves who they want to listen to and support.”



 



 

The internet continued to show their support on X as one user wrote, “Yeah, he and we have right to free speech. Congratulation Alex,” and another wrote, “Yes I am so happy !!! Alex Jones is not a bad person and he did predict 911. He is a good person and should never have to apologize for who he is...Thank you Elon Musk you are loved and appreciated by so many people ... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
