Who is Jordan Turpin?

Turpin, 23, gained recognition worldwide after she bravely escaped from her parents' "House of Horrors" in 2018 and alerted police to their abuse which led to authorities investigating her parents' residence.

This move from the then-teenager led to the rescue of her 12 siblings from their abusive parents.

Turpin is currently a social media star who is an aspiring motivational speaker and model.

What happened at the 'House of Horrors'?

On the 2021 ABC special 'Escape from a House of Horror', Turpin and her eldest sister Jennifer Turpin opened up about their horrifying journey.

After Turpin walked outside of her parents David and Louise Turpin's home in Perris, California for the first time in 17 years of her life, she used a cell phone she had taken from the house and dialed 911, leading authorities to find her siblings.

Police found her sisters and brothers in dire conditions in the residence.

The arrests in January 2018 disclosed harrowing details of Turpin and her siblings being subject to horrifying conditions of abuse and neglect.

The children were beaten and starved, denied basic hygiene, shackled to beds, and were only allowed to shower once a year.

Except for meals, the children were confined in their rooms and the number of meals a day had been reduced over time, according to Daily Mail.

Where are Jordan Turpin's parents now?

After David and Louise Turpin were taken into custody, they were charged with 14 counts of child endangerment, torture, dependent adult abuse, and false imprisonment.

In April 2019, they were sentenced to life in prison after they pleaded guilty to the multiple counts charged.
