WASHINGTON, DC: Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump recently came under intense scrutiny after claiming President Joe Biden is a “Manchurian candidate” for the upcoming election as he allegedly “receives money from China.”

Nevertheless, the former President did not substantiate his claim with evidence. The 77-year-old veteran politician’s fiery rant against the Democratic incumbent, however, came after he praised the Chinese President Xi Jinping and claimed he was a good friend during his term.

What did Donald Trump say about President Joe Biden?

During an interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday, February 4, Trump accused Biden of being a Chinese candidate.

After slamming the 81-year-old Commander-in-Chief by calling him “incompetent,” Trump said, “When it comes to a lot of countries, I think he’s a Manchurian Candidate, because he receives money from China.”

Without offering any evidence, Trump continued, “People say, I wonder why he’s so weak on China? He gets a lot of money from China.”

Earlier in the same interview, Trump praised President Xi Jinping of China and said, “I want China to do great, I do. And I like President Xi a lot. He was a very good friend of mine during my term.”

Bartiromo replied, “Well, look, COVID, COVID cover-up, intellectual property theft, the list is long from our number one adversary, so I don’t know if he’s a friend but—” as Trump went on to talk over her.

Internet slams Donald Trump for mocking Joe Biden

Donald Trump's claims weren't received well by social media users as they criticized him for admitting to having received close to $8 million in foreign grants.

One of the users said, "Says the man who received money from the Chinese government and has Chinese bank accounts."

"Always gaslighting," accused someone else.

The third social media user declared, "Trump is the Manchurian Candidate."

Someone else chimed in, "Everything he says, is just projection of a crime and an admission."

"And China approved numerous trademarks for Ivanka," claimed someone before adding, "And then the MAGA hats Made in China."

Another netizen chimed in, "Pot calling the kettle... Not only did he get money from china, but his daughter benefited with 18 trademarks in 2 months."

"The king of lining his own pockets making accusations of the same things he himself is guilty of doing," remarked another dissenter.

Referring to the movie of the same name, another person said, "Guess he didn’t ever see the movie…"

Someone else asked, "Trump took money from China. How does he keep getting away with the sander?"

Trump admitted he took money from foreign governments as he was 'doing services for them'

Recently, House Oversight Committee Democrats produced a 156-page report called 'White House For Sale' where it was claimed that the former President received at least $7.8 million from foreign entities, "including a top US adversary," while he was in Office.

Per the New York Times, millions of dollars were paid to the Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC, Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York and Trump World Tower at 845 United Nations Plaza in New York.

In the foreword of the report, the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland wrote, “By elevating his personal financial interests and the policy priorities of corrupt foreign powers over the American public interest, former President Trump violated both the clear commands of the Constitution and the careful precedent set and observed by every previous commander in chief."

A week later, Trump, however, defended his decision to accept the payments from countries including China and Saudi Arabia during a Fox News town hall, where he said, "That's a small amount of money. You know, it sounds like a lot of money. That's small."

He later explained the governments paid him because of the accommodation services they obtained in Trump's hotels.

Trump explained, "I was doing services for them. People were staying in these massive hotels, these beautiful hotels," before countering, "I don't get $8 million for doing nothing."

Donald Trump has previously praised China and President Xi Jinping multiple times during his term as the President. Per Politico, the GOP candidate has praised the Chinese President and his effort to contain the coronavirus as the pandemic was ravaging the world in 2020.
