LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Josh Brolin is finally explaining the creative process that went behind the poems he composed while filming the ‘Dune: Part Two.'

While discussing the poetic work, he also acknowledged the rumor suggesting he wrote a poem for Timothee Chalamet, claiming it was filled with intense romantic tension.

In a poem from Brolin’s repertoire that recently went viral, the ‘Avengers’ star wrote, “The way you hold my gaze makes me fear my own age.”

He continued, “Because something in me tells me you are going to offer me something and, for now, I’m not sure it’s going to be something I want anymore.”

Brolin’s literary flair was revealed in the new behind-the-scenes book from the film’s sets, ‘Dune: Exposures,' per Just Jared.

Josh Brolin addresses the issue related to Timothee Chalamet

As the 56-year-old star spared no effort in expressing his admiration for his co-stars, including Timothee Chalamet, Florence Pugh, Javier Bardem, Austin Butler, among others, fans harbored skepticism regarding the authenticity of the poems.

Several fans even began questioning Brolin's sexuality and joked that he "wanted to sleep with Timothee."

However, Brolin has now addressed the issues and described his creative process during an interview with Vulture.

Brolin said, “I love that there’s a poem that they exploited into the idea that I wanted to sleep with Timothee. [Laughs.] I’m like, ‘You f**king run with it.’”

The veteran actor also explained, “The fact that I’ve been around for 40 years, and [Timothee] was somebody who was like a young basset hound when I first met him. He’s really an absolute raw nerve, and watching this trajectory of what he’s become, and what he’ll continue to become.”

Brolin, however, continued to praise Zendaya and the other young stars from the film as well, as he continued, “Having known Zendaya and having known Timothee, and then being turned on to Florence Pugh and Austin Butler, who I’m absolutely in love with and have gotten really close with.”

“I love how much they respect the work, and yet how much fun they have during the work,” shared the ‘Oldboy’ actor.

He further explained, “It’s a selfish thing. We have to be here for three months. I can’t look into a dark corner for three months. So there’s a lot of poking fun, and then you go into this place, and then you do your work, and then you come out and you have fun again. I found that really satisfying.”

During the same interview, he even noted that filming amid the vast desert further fueled his creative process.

He shared poetically, “I was bowled over by my experience in the desert,” before adding, “I felt so incredibly insignificant, which became addictive.”

“By the time we left, not only me, but my family and then the rest of the people on set, were very emotional leaving because you realize you’re a blip. You’re surrounded by these dunes forever changing shape, and you’re just so, so meaningless. It’s kind of great,” shared Brolin.

Fans react to Josh Brolin writing a poem

Several fans on the internet understood Brolin's vision and commended him for the same. Some of the fans even defended the poem from getting called a "gay love poem."

One of the fans said, "Not every man could be so comfortable with their sexuality to write a poem about another man’s looks. I applaud Josh Brolin’s sensibility."

"I think its him coming in terms with this age and accepting other talent is in the spotlight. Endless cycle," explained someone else. [sic]

Another fan said, "Feels like he’s reminiscing his youth and it’s thought provoking in that sense."

Someone else slammed the naysayers and wrote, "Some of the comments are ridiculous. That’s beautiful. Josh had some wild times as a young man in the spotlight. He’s both nostalgic and uninterested in a do-ever. This is beautiful."

"He’s talking about facing his own age and the growing abundance of youth that is passing you by. It’s not a gay love poem," observed another social media user.
