The VP used his hometown appearance at a Republican dinner to lash out at what he described as “pink-haired people” who, he claimed, often approach him in public, according to the Daily Beast.

Vance raised eyebrows during a Republican dinner on June 24 when he flipped his middle finger while making a sarcastic remark about political critics.

Addressing the crowd, Vance said, “I know it’s not always easy to be a political candidate — trust me. In Washington, DC, they have this thing, I think it means we’re number one in Washington,” as he held up his middle finger.

Keeping his finger raised, he continued, “But all the pink-haired people throw up this sign, and I think that means we’re number 1, right? I choose to take that as the symbol in Washington.”

Vance's remarks came amid heightened tensions between Israel and Iran, according to the outlet.

Earlier, President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House, “We have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f*** they’re doing.”

Meanwhile, Vance echoed Trump’s statement that the recent US strikes had wiped out Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

“Not only did we destroy the Iranian nuclear program, we did it with zero American casualties,” he said.

Vance insisted he had no idea Trump was going to make him his presidential running mate "until literally the morning of the GOP Convention" that took place on July 15, 2024, in Milwaukee, according to the Daily Beast.
