PORTLAND, OREGON: A woman who dated possible "serial killer" Jesse Lee Calhoun detailed their tumultuous relationship and how he managed his anger.

The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday, May 17, that he is currently facing murder charges in connection to the deaths of Charity Lynn Perry, 24, Bridget Leanne Webster, 31, and Joanna Speaks, 32, whose bodies were discovered over a span of three months in 2023 in the Portland area.

Calhoun is also being investigated in the deaths of two others, Kristin Smith and Ashley Real.

Jesse Lee Calhoun's ex-girlfriend Krista Sinor finds the murder charges brought against him 'confusing'

Krista Sinor, who met Calhoun on Facebook, was in a relationship with the murder suspect until he was arrested for parole violation in a case separate from that of the three women.

Shockingly, she revealed that she maintains communication with the accused killer through letters and phone calls as he remains in jail. Sinor apparently found the murder allegations brought against her ex-boyfriend "confusing," as per Daily Mail.

She depicted their relationship as turbulent, noting that Calhoun would occasionally fly into a rage but attempt to shield her from the worst of it.

Talking to NewsNation, Sinor said, "He would always say, if he got mad, like if he stubbed his toe or something, he'd be like, 'Don't talk to me. Just know that I can't be talked to for a few minutes, you know, when I get angry, just let me be and we'll discuss it later.'"

She added, "There was a few times that things weren't going the way he was hoping to go and he would like throw me to the side... but on the bed. So I mean, those times that I was thrown on the bed and he would be angry or whatever saying that I did something to... mess things up, he would come back and apologize for that."

Who is Jesse Lee Calhoun?

Calhoun possesses an extensive criminal history spanning two decades. He reportedly earned a living by painting designs on vehicles, as told to booking officials.

Calhoun's initial felony conviction dates back to 2004. In 2018, he was arrested once more for possession of methamphetamine, multiple firearms, and over 500 rounds of ammunition.

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office labeled him a "prolific thief and career criminal."

In 2019, he received four concurrent sentences.

However, in 2021, then-Governor Kate Brown reduced the prison sentences of 41 inmates by one year, including Calhoun's, as a recognition of their assistance in combating the destructive 2020 Oregon wildfires.

Consequently, Calhoun was released from the Columbia River Correctional Institution on July 22, 2021, almost a year before his expected release date.

He had been serving a 50-month sentence for various offenses, including assaulting a police officer, attempting to strangle a police dog, burglary, and felony unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Governor Tina Kotek revoked his commutation in July 2023 at the request of Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt. The DA's office noted that he had violated the conditions of his commutation.
