Jesse Watters claims Biden might refuse to leave WH if Trump wins, Internet calls it 'projection'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent segment of 'Jesse Watters Primetime' on Fox News, host Jesse Watters posited a provocative scenario regarding President Joe Biden potentially refusing to vacate the White House if he were to lose the upcoming election to former President Donald Trump.
According to Mediaite, Watters began by quoting Biden's assertion that he's running to safeguard democracy, suggesting that Biden believes America's fate hinges on his victory and that a Trump triumph would lead to dire consequences, including a purported transition to a racist dictatorship and the abandonment of the Constitution in favor of Trump's book, 'The Art of the Deal'.
Jesse Watters questions Biden's willingness to relinquish power
“Joe Biden says he’s running to save democracy. If Trump wins, America’s over. An orange revolution will usher in a racist dictatorship and the Constitution will be replaced with The Art of the Deal,” said Watters on his show. “Which raises the question: If Trump does win, why would Biden concede?”
Watters then referenced an op-ed in The Hill that entertained the hypothetical notion of Biden refusing to concede defeat and remaining in the White House, drawing parallels to historical figures like Hitler. He questioned why Biden would willingly relinquish power to someone he perceives as a tyrant.
“Makes sense. If Trump’s Hitler and you lose to Hitler, why would you willingly hand Hitler the keys to the White House?” added Watters.
Seeking further insight, Watters turned to former Trump administration official Monica Crowley, who echoed the sentiment that Biden's departure from the presidency might not be as straightforward as tradition dictates.
Possibility of a Democratic subterfuge
Crowley suggested that there could be forces behind the scenes orchestrating a bid to retain power, even in the event of an electoral loss.
“It’s an outstanding question, isn’t it? And there are a lot of people who suspect that he might find some pretext not to leave the presidency, or, I should be more accurate, Jesse, and say the people pulling his strings would like to stay in power,” Crowley commented.
Watters reinforced this notion by emphasizing the improbability of a defeated candidate willingly facilitating the transfer of power to someone they believe will harm the country.
He argued that it would be illogical for Biden to cooperate in such a scenario, implying that the normal protocols of a peaceful transition of power might not be adhered to.
“If someone’s going to destroy the country and you lose, why would you say, ‘Okay, my transition team will be in touch and these are the passwords to the Eisenhower Executive Building,’ right? You wouldn’t. You wouldn’t do that,” Watters concluded.
