LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jessica Chastain recently found herself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons after voicing her dissatisfaction with JetBlue airline.

The Oscar-winning actress received significant backlash for what many perceived as a tone-deaf complaint, especially considering her wealth and status.

Jessica Chastain’s JetBlue frustration

On Wednesday, Chastain took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her frustration after receiving a $15 refund for a malfunctioning flight entertainment system. Her initial post, which she later deleted, included a screenshot of the credit notification and read, “Thanks you @JetBlue for your $15.00 credit. My flight was $1,500 and the credit is 1/100 of the money I paid you.”

She continued, “Strange that I paid that for your flight entertainment system that didn't work for the duration of my 6hr flight, but I guess it was worth it for this $15 credit.”

Chastain's complaints escalated when she shared a follow-up post indicating that she felt entitled to a larger refund than other passengers who had purchased cheaper tickets on the same flight.

After communicating with a JetBlue customer service representative, she expressed her dissatisfaction, stating, “I understand but I spent $1500 on the flight and so did my husband. There should be some flight credit or something since I have a TrueBlue account and have been a loyal customer.”

The representative clarified that the airline was only offering $15 per person, irrespective of ticket price or loyalty status.

In response to Chastain's frustrations, JetBlue replied, “We're sorry you're disappointed, Jessica. Please send us a DM so we can look into this.”

Since deleting her posts, Chastain has not commented further on the situation.

Jessica Chastain's airline complaint draws Internet's ire

This outcry drew sharp criticism from other users on X. Many found her concerns trivial, particularly in light of recent natural disasters like Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, which had impacted many Americans.

One user pointedly remarked, "A woman who is worth 50 million is upset over being compensated for the TV being out. You received your compensation. Don't become a Karen of the Airlines."

Others took a more mocking tone, with comments such as, "Girl you’re millionaire and a stingy one is well i swear hate these fake sjw celebs go back to your mansion.”

While others noted, "The epitome of white privilege.."

One user commented, "Is she hard up for money?? Gofund, perhaps?? @JetBlue@jes_chastain#jetblue #jessicachastian #tonedeaf #disappointing #millennial".

Another said, "Girl read the room? You’re a millionaire flying a budget airline."

One user said, "Its just $1500 girl……"
