PUEBLO, COLORADO: A Pueblo man and his girlfriend have been identified as suspects in the homicides of two young children, who were last seen in summer of 2018 and whose remains were found in the last two months.

The girlfriend Corena Rose Minjarez has been arrested while the male suspect, who fathered the children, remains at large.

However, arrest warrants were obtained for both Minjarez and her BF Jesus Dominguez, who is on run, on charges of two counts of first degree murder and two counts of abuse of a corpse, per KRDO

Pueblo children were last seen in 2018

The investigation began when police discovered the remains of a young girl inside a metal container in a storage facility on West 6th Street in Pueblo on January 20.

The remains, encased in concrete inside the container, were later identified through DNA testing to be that of Yesenia Dominguez. The girl and another child, Jesus Dominguez Jr, were missing since 2018, though police say no missing person report was filed. The girl was 3 at the time of her disappearance, and the boy was 5 years old.

Police also said that Dominguez has an additional charge of theft of government benefits.

Police continue the investigation

Pueblo police identified 36-year-old Minjarez, and 35-years-old Jesus Dominguez as persons of interest in the case. In a interview before the identification, police said they were told that the children were in Arizona, but that the lead went nowhere.

On February 6, the remains of Dominguez Jr were discovered at a Pueblo scrap yard in what authorities claim to be Minjarez's car.

According to PPD, the boy's remains were discovered in a suitcase inside the vehicle. On February 15, police carried out a warrant for Minjarez and Dominguez for first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse.

Minjarez was taken into custody and is being held on a $2 million bond at the Pueblo County Detention Center. Dominguez is still wanted by the police.
