NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan expressed his frustration with the delays from DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and issued a subpoena for Mayorkas to testify before the Committee regarding the "slow-walking" of requested files on immigrants facing serious charges such as murder and terrorism.

In an obtained cover letter, Jordan reveals that the committee has been actively seeking the Alien Files (A-files) of 14 undocumented individuals "charged with serious offenses, such as theft, brutal assault, murder, and terrorism-related charges."

Following this news, Fox News host Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to report on the issue and mocked the DHS secretary for "slow-walking" files.

Evidently, the internet criticized the chairman and labeled him a "hypocrite" after he issued a subpoena to Mayorkas.

Fox News host Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “CHAIR JORDAN: House Judiciary Subpoenas Mayorkas for Slow-Walking Files on Violent Migrants. JORDAN: 'In light of your disregard of our earlier voluntary requests, please find attached a subpoena for the requested documents and information.'"

Hannity's tweet featured a link to an article on his official website titled, "CHAIR JORDAN: House Judiciary Subpoenas Mayorkas for Slow-Walking Files on Violent Migrants."

The article highlighted that the House Judiciary Committee issued a subpoena to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for case files of illegal immigrants charged with serious crimes, including murder and terrorism.

Jordan said, “The Committee has followed up on its requests – the vast majority of which have remained outstanding for months on end – regularly and on numerous occasions.”

However, Jordan pointed out that only partial summaries for two A-files have been provided, and the productions have been limited. Despite the committee's inquiry to DHS in November for the remaining 14 documents, no information has been received to date.

Jordan continued, “Your response without compulsory process has, to date, been woefully inadequate.”

Jordan asserts that the Supreme Court acknowledges Congress's expansive authority for oversight. He emphasizes the committee's jurisdiction to conduct oversight on issues related to federal immigration law.

He said, “These potential legislative reforms could include, among other proposals, legislation to enhance the vetting of aliens to ensure criminal aliens are not released into American communities and proposals to end mass catch-and-release."

"The information the Committee has requested is necessary to inform such potential reforms and to understand DHS’s current application of the immigration laws,” he added.

In response to the disregard of previous voluntary requests, Jordan stated, "Accordingly, and in light of your disregard of our earlier voluntary requests, please find attached a subpoena for the requested documents and information."

The subpoena mandates Mayorkas to submit the documents to the committee by January 8.

Internet roast Jim Jordan as ‘hypocrite’

Shortly after Sean Hannity reported on Jim Jordan issuing a subpoena to Alejandro Mayorkas for "slow-walking" files on violent migrants, numerous users on X took a harsh jab at the chairman.

One person wrote, “I find it funny that a guy that ignored his subpoena thinks someone else should honor theirs. Hypocrites does (sic) even begin to describe these people. Why did Gym ask for a pardon.”

Another had a similar opinion, “Oh, Jim is playing tough guy, just like you do Sean.”

One X user mocked Jordan saying, “Hey Jimbo, when are you going to follow your subpoena? Republican hypocrisy is staggering. Honestly, why is anyone still a Republican when all they do is lie to you over and over and over.”

Another said, “Jim Jordan is the guy that fails to answer a subpoena and now he’s issuing them?”

One more user slammed Jordan, adding, “Just an attorney wanna-be that never took the bar and wants to act like a lawyer.”

An X user bashed Jordan by saying, “LOL @Jim_Jordan! You are definitely the most useless legislator in Washington but now you might also be the biggest hypocrite too,”

Another wrote, “Jordan is such a waste of time. He thinks it's his job to harass people.”
