LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Despite Donald Trump’s insistence that he’s not weird, his actions and words often suggest otherwise.

This was especially clear during Tuesday night's presidential debate, as Jimmy Fallon pointed out on Wednesday’s episode of 'The Tonight Show.'

Jimmy Fallon mocks Donald Trump's debate performance

Jimmy Fallon humorously remarked, “Everyone thought [Vice President Kamala] Harris seemed really prepared, while Trump was like, ‘My homework was eaten by a dog, that was eaten by people in Ohio.’”

He continued, “There were so many wild moments last night, but the craziest was when Trump pushed a baseless conspiracy theory about immigrants in Ohio. Looks like ‘Operation: I’m Not Weird’ isn’t going well.”

The debate took an odd turn when Trump, responding to a jab from Harris about his rally crowds, launched into a racist and baseless story, claiming that Haitian immigrants were eating pets in an Ohio town. “In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs ... they’re eating the cats,” he proclaimed.

The debate saw Trump struggling to defend himself as Harris deftly baited him with remarks about his rally attendees. Trump’s odd claims seemed to support the Democrats’ characterization of Republicans as "weird," a critique that clearly unsettled him.

Jimmy Fallon jokes about Donald Trump’s struggles and outlandish claims during debate

The aftermath of the debate has sparked considerable discussion. Most observers agree it was a challenging night for Donald Trump, with some noting that his performance was notably poor compared to previous debates.

Fallon quipped, “Yeah, we haven't seen a debate performance that bad since, well, the last debate,” drawing laughter from the audience.

Following the debate, Trump inquired about his performance with undecided voters, only to be told by his team, “Well, they’re not undecided anymore.”

Fallon humorously noted, “Afterward, Trump asked how he did with his undecided voters, and his staff said, ‘Well, they’re not undecided anymore.’”

Fallon also joked about the debate’s effect on world leaders, noting, “About an hour into the debate, even Vladimir Putin was like, ‘Uh, let’s see what’s on ‘Nyetflix.’”

In the days following the debate, Trump claimed it was rigged and lashed out at ABC for fact-checking him, despite his belief that he performed exceptionally well.

Fallon quipped, “This morning, Trump said the debate was rigged and that ABC should be shut down for fact-checking him, but that he still thought he did great.” He added, “Then ABC fact-checked him again and said, ‘You did not.’”
