THE HAMPTONS, NEW YORK: President Joe Biden encountered a group of protesters who demanded his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential campaign while attending two fundraisers in the Hamptons, on Saturday, June 29. 2024.

The incident, captured by pool reporters, adds to the ongoing criticism Biden faced from his own party following his CNN debate with Donald Trump on Thursday, June 27.

Prominent figures and media outlets have called for Joe Biden to step down

Prominent figures and media outlets, including the New York Times editorial board and Democratic strategist James Carville, have asked President Joe Biden to step down from his presidential campaign.

Tyler Pager, a reporter for the Washington Post, noted that Biden's motorcade was met with protesters holding signs urging him to exit the race as it traveled through the Hamptons.

The signs reading "Thank you next", "Please drop out for US", "Step down for democracy", and "We love you but it's time," were among those that were reportedly seen.



 

In her report for CNN Newsroom with Fredricka Whitfield, CNN's Arlette Saenz stated that on Saturday, the president convened a "campaign meeting with his campaign co-chair," while the DNC held a separate strategy meeting, which was scheduled on Friday, June 28, in response to the debate's aftermath, MediaITE reported.

The call was closed to questions and the Zoom chat feature was disabled.

It concluded without any significant announcements or changes in strategy for the Democrats' 2024 campaign, despite increasing dissatisfaction among leading Democratic commentators and strategists.

Additionally, CNN has reported a rising concern among key Democratic donors over Biden's capacity to succeed and secure a victory against Trump in the upcoming November election.

One social media user wrote, "Oh that's Racy but 'Jill' has become too JADED to leave now !"



 

Another user added, "Biden will take them all down to save his skin."



 

One commentator wrote, "The Hamptons...........these folks will still be living GREAT under a Trump administration."



 

"All these people are Trump supporters just look at their entitled faces...as are half the dump Biden white tweeters this weekend," one individual wrote.
