Joe Jonas removes Diddy's mention from hit song during Paris concert after rapper’s arrest
PARIS, FRANCE: Joe Jonas has subtly altered a key lyric in his band DNCE’s hit 2015 song 'Cake By the Ocean' during a recent live performance, as per The Independent.
The change comes in the wake of Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal troubles, where the rapper is facing serious allegations involving sex trafficking and racketeering.
Fans attending the Jonas Brothers concert in Paris on Saturday, September 28, immediately noticed the lyric tweak, and news of the change in lyrics quickly spread across social media.

Joe Jonas subtly tweaks lyrics of 'Cake By the Ocean' to remove Diddy's mention
During the concert at the LDLC Arena in Paris, Jonas, 35, performed the hit track 'Cake by the Ocean,' but with one noticeable difference.
In the part of the song where he normally sings, "Walk for me, baby / I'll be Diddy, you’ll be Naomi," Jonas instead appeared to sing, "Walk for me, baby / I’ll be watching you be Naomi."
The original lyric was a nod to the long-standing rumors that Combs had dated supermodel Naomi Campbell in the early 2000s.
Jonas’s subtle lyric change of replacing "Diddy" with a more neutral phrasing did not go unnoticed by fans. Jonas is not the first artist to adjust or completely remove a reference to Combs in light of the mounting accusations.
Earlier this year, pop sensation Kesha also made headlines for changing the lyrics to her debut single 'Tik Tok,' a song which originally name-dropped the rapper.
The original song famously opened with the line, "Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy," a fun, light-hearted reference to the rapper's larger-than-life persona.
However, as accusations against Combs mounted, Kesha made the decision to change the lyric during live performances.
In recent shows, the 37-year-old singer has modified the line to alternatives like "Wake up in the morning feeling like f*** P. Diddy" or simply "Wake up in the morning feeling just like me," signaling a clear break from any association with the embattled rapper.
The decision by both Kesha and Jonas to change their songs follows the explosive developments in Combs' case. Once a revered figure in the music world, Combs is now embroiled in legal battles that could permanently alter his public image.

Naomi Campbell first met Diddy during Vogue photoshoot in 2001
In the early 2000s, rumors circulated about a potential romantic relationship between Combs and Campbell, as per The Mirror.
Their first public appearance together was during a Vogue photoshoot in 2001, which fueled speculation despite Campbell being engaged to Formula One racer Flavio Briatore at the time.
Campbell later clarified in an interview that their relationship was more like that of siblings.
Over the years, the pair were frequently seen together at social events, developing what appeared to be a close friendship.
Campbell expressed admiration for Combs' personality and enjoyed spending time with him. Their bond was evident when Campbell interviewed Combs on her YouTube show 'No Filter With Naomi' in 2020, where they discussed various topics, including his role as a father.
Campbell later hosted an extravagant 53rd birthday celebration for Combs at London's LAVO restaurant, attended by celebrities like Janet Jackson and Idris Elba.
However, their friendship reportedly took a turn when Combs' former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, made serious allegations against him involving physical abuse and trafficking.
Following these accusations, Campbell apparently distanced herself from Combs, even removing their shared photos from her Instagram account.
