John Cena walks onto Oscars stage naked to announce Best Costume award, Internet calls him 'classless'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: WWE wrestler turner actor John Cena made a controversial entrance at the 2024 Oscars on Sunday, March 10, night.
The 46-year-old came onto the stage to present the award for 'Best Costume Design' completely naked.
John Cena appears naked on the Oscars stage
Host Jimmy Kimmel began the segment with a humorous joke pointing at the "craziest moment in Oscar history." Kimmel then recalled an incident during the 46th Academy Awards in 1974 when a nude man streaked onstage behind then-host David Niven.
"Can you imagine if a nude man ran across the stage today?" Kimmel asked the audience.
The question was eventually meant to act as Cena's cue to come onstage. A visibly nervous Cena peeked from behind the stage and called Kimmel over to share his reservations about presenting the award naked.

Cena told Kimmel, "I changed my mind. I don't want to do the streaker bit anymore," before adding, "I just don't feel right about it. This is an elegant event. Honestly, you should feel ashamed right now for suggesting such a tasteless idea."
Kimmel then asked, "You wrestle naked, why not?"
"Dude, I don't wrestle naked. I wrestle in jorts," Cena replied, to which Kimmel quipped, "Jorts are worse than naked."
Kimmel left the stage so that Cena could present the award. With an envelope tucked neatly under his belly, the 'Ricky Stanicky' actor approached the front of the stage with caution while being completely nude.
"Costumes, they are so important. Maybe the most important thing there is," Cena said, before adding, "I can't open the envelope."
In an attempt to oust Cena, Kimmel presented the candidates for best costume design. After the names of all the nominees were revealed, Cena was seen draped with a massive beige curtain, which Kimmel was seen altering while he was on stage. "There, you look beautiful," Kimmel said.
Relieved with the cover-up, Cena then announced that the winner of the award was 'Poor Things' designer Holly Waddington.
