Jon Stewart returns to 'The Daily Show' as Monday night host and executive producer for election season
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jon Stewart is back in the game. Comedy Central has gone back to the popular show host after months of searching for a new one. The Paramount Global network confirmed that Jon Stewart will present the Monday night program on 'The Daily Show' until the 2024 election cycle.
Jon Stewart will be on-air from February
Stewart's job will be to give an oversight at ‘The Daily Show' that could extend through 2025 and will start his on-air duties on February 12, as per Variety.
Meanwhile, ‘The Daily Show’ correspondents will take charge of the show from Tuesday through Thursday nights and Jen Flanz, the current executive producer, will carry on with her responsibilities on the show.
“Jon Stewart is the voice of our generation, and we are honored to have him return to Comedy Central’s ‘The Daily Show’ to help us all make sense of the insanity and division roiling the country as we enter the election season,” said Chris McCarthy, President/CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, in a statement.
“In our age of staggering hypocrisy and performative politics, Jon is the perfect person to puncture the empty rhetoric and provide much-needed clarity with his brilliant wit," the statement added.
