Joshua Ray Walker shares unbelievable health update month after lung cancer diagnosis
DALLAS, TEXAS: Country singer Joshua Ray Walker surprised his fans by announcing that he was 'cancer-free' on Friday, October 25, nearly a month after his reports showed that his colon cancer had spread to his lungs and qualified as Stage 4.
The 33-year-old singer was previously diagnosed with colon cancer in December 2023 and underwent surgery, and chemotherapy for six months.
However, that no longer seems to be the case, as the lung cancer diagnosis reportedly turned out to be incorrect.
This joyful U-turn regarding his health comes four days after the singer announced three new shows for 2025.

How did Joshua Ray Walker discover that he was cancer-free?
As part of his treatment, Walker had a biopsy in September following which doctors told him that their initial diagnosis was wrong.
Not only were Walker's lungs cancer-free, but as far as they could tell, there was no trace of the disease remaining in his body.

While the update has been undoubtedly great, the singer is not completely out of the woods. He would be in remission for the next five years, during which he would need to undergo scans and tests.
Joshua Ray Walker announces he 'beat the odds'
Taking to the social media platform Instagram, Walker shared the good news with his fans, writing, "Hi y’all, thank you for your patience while I heal. I’ve been anxious to update you, but I wanted to wait until I was off pain meds and all the most recent scans, tests, and lab results had come back. I’m so excited to share with you that my pre-surgery diagnosis was incorrect, I’ve beat the odds and to everyone’s complete surprise, my lungs are cancer-free!"
"As far as my doctors can tell, there is no discernible amount of cancer anywhere in my body at the moment! I am ecstatic, and I couldn’t have done it without y’all’s love and support. I won’t be in remission for another 5 years, and I will have frequent tests and scans done during that time, but for now, my life is not in imminent danger. That’s a crazy thing to say considering the odds I was told I was up against a little over a month ago," he added.
Walker added that the medical journey had been an "emotional rollercoaster" for him and that he was grateful for the support and the donations of his fans that helped him pull through.
Walker started a GoFundMe drive in September to support his "cost of living and out-of-pocket health expenses".
"Your donations have and will continue to help me pay my personal and medical debt. They will supplement lost wages and out-of-pocket expenses I’ve accrued since my diagnosis, as well as future expenses as I continue to heal," Walker wrote.
