During an exclusive interview with ‘Today’ host Hoda Kotb, Julia Roberts and Mahershala Ali talked about their latest movie.
The veteran of romantic movies showered all her love for her husband Danny Moder explaining, “Well, it all starts with Danny Moder, you know?”
She told Kotb, “He’s just really our anchor and our person. And in the most beautiful way, the captain of our ship, you know, truly."
Roberts continued, “And it’s not, like, giving it all away to him. It’s just that for me, understanding how deeply felt life could be really started with him."
The Oscar winner actress shares twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, and son Henry with her husband Moder.
While talking about her family, Roberts also shared her "simple rules" for parenting her children when it comes to smartphones.
She told Kotb, “So, for us, we just had sort of simple rules where we had a charging station, where everybody’s phone goes when you get home. There’s no phones at the table, certainly.”
She continued, “I parent them the same way out of the house that I parented them in the house, which is, you know, ‘Are you getting enough sleep?’ And ‘You sound like you’re sick.’ And ‘Are you drinking tea?’ And ‘Text me when you get home you get home (so) I can see that you’re home safe and sound.”

How did Julia Roberts and Danny Moder meet?
Julia Roberts crossed paths with her husband, Danny Moder, on the set of ‘The Mexican’ in 2000.
Moder, serving as a cameraman, collaborated on the film where Roberts shared the screen with Brad Pitt and James Gandolfini.
Reflecting on their initial connection, Roberts shared insights into how she and Moder bridged the gap between their distinct roles on set.
She told in an interview with O, The Oprah Magazine in 2003, “On the set, I get pretty relaxed. These guys see me at five in the morning, when I come stumbling onto the set like, 'What the hell is goin’ on?'"

She continued, “In those circumstances, you can see what a person’s really made of. Some great friendships can be formed because you see one another at your best and worst."
Roberts further said that she and Moder were friends “for really long time” before anything happened between them.
She said, “I could see how wonderful he was, but we were both in relationships at the time, so we were just friends.”
At the time of their first meeting, Moder was married to makeup artist Vera Steimberg, while Roberts was in a relationship with actor Benjamin Bratt.
However, by 2003, as Roberts shared with Oprah Winfrey, both she and Moder had already parted ways with their respective former partners, paving the way for the blossoming of their romance.
She said, “He sorted his whole thing out, separate and apart from me. And I sorted my life out, separate and apart from him. I think that’s the only reason we were able to ultimately fall in love with each other and be together."
