WASHINGTON, DC: Douglas Craig Emhoff stated on Sunday, June 23, that Democrats must win this year's election as the world "literally depends" on it.

Emhoff, the second gentleman of the United States and the husband of Vice President, Kamala Harris is a lawyer and distinguished visiting professor at Georgetown University Law Center and began his career as an entertainment lawyer.

Emhoff spoke to CBS Sunday Morning national correspondent Rita Braver where he discussed his relationship with Harris, shared his policy perspectives, and described his role as the inaugural Second Gentleman.

The segment also took a look at the couple's life in California, culminating with Braver inquiring if Emhoff ever contemplates the possibility of a loss being acceptable, leading to a return to their home state, Media ITE reports.

“Do you ever think, well, you know, if things don’t work out, we could always move back here and be just fine?” Braver asked.

“We’re going to win this election. We have to win this election,” he said. “Literally. Our country, and our world depends on us winning this election,” he added. 

Emhoff claimed while talking about Harris, "She’s the toughest person out there." Braver replied, "She’s tough." To this, Harris' husband added, "Oh, she’s so tough. It just bounces right off of her."



 

Internet reacts to Douglas Emhoff's statement 

Internet was not impressed by Emhoff's predictions about the 2024 US elections. One reader mocked, "Hey hicks what are the polls saying today? Oh wait, that's right. You don't care about polls anymore."

Another one added, "LOL, congress writes the laws and the rules of it's house. You are ignorant."

A commentator wrote, "41 per cent of Americans believe that humans and dinosaurs coexisted. This is what we're dealing with people, a country filled with mor**s."

"Dumber than bags of hammers ..." a person slammed.
