LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Vice President Kamala Harris is set to return to Nevada for a Biden-Harris campaign event in Las Vegas on Tuesday, July 9.

This will mark her sixth trip to the battleground state this year and her 14th visit since taking office. Although specific details regarding the time and location of the event remain unclear, the announcement follows the Biden vs Trump debate widely regarded as a poor showing for President Joe Biden.

During the 90-minute televised debate, President Biden frequently mumbled, trailed off mid-sentence, and struggled to articulate his points. Donald Trump seized the opportunity to ridicule Biden's occasionally unclear statements.

The incumbent frequently stumbled during his responses and, at one instance, paused before stating, "I beat Medicare."

Meanwhile, House Democrat Rep Lloyd Doggett of Texas has publicly urged President Biden to "withdraw" from the 2024 campaign.

Doggett, the first elected Democrat to make such a push, praised Biden's public service achievements but noted widespread dissatisfaction among Americans regarding their electoral choices.

“Having devoted his life to public service, President Biden has achieved much for our country at home and abroad,” he said.

"Stepping up to lead a nation in crisis, President Biden helped rebuild our country from the devastation of a pandemic, an insurrection, and years of Trump wreckage. Yet, for more than a year, many Americans have indicated dissatisfaction with their choices in this election," the Center Square reported, per New York Post.

Should Biden bow out, Harris would be a prominent option for Democrats to challenge Trump in the upcoming election. Other potential candidates include California Governor Gavin Newsom, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

A recent CNN poll found that 45% of registered voters would support Harris in a matchup against Trump, a higher percentage than Biden, who trailed Trump by six points.

Additionally, House Democrat James Clyburn of South Carolina expressed his support for Harris if Biden exits the campaign. Clyburn's endorsement of Biden in 2020 played a crucial role in Biden's victory in The Palmetto State.

Vice President Harris's previous visits to Nevada have included January meetings with union members in Las Vegas, a speech at Mojave High School in March, and a post-presidential debate rally in Las Vegas on June 28.
