WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President Kamala Harris apparently fumbled while reciting the Pledge of Allegiance on the Senate floor on Friday, January 3, as per Fox News.

The incident might have greatly amused Ohio Senator and incoming Vice President, JD Vance, who was later seen laughing with colleagues while Harris swore in the senators of the 119th Congress.

Kamala Harris appears to fumble while saying the opening line of the Pledge of Allegiance

The Pledge of Allegiance states, "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." It was last amended in 1954 under President Dwight D Eisenhower and has remained the same since.

According to Fox News, Harris was heard saying over the microphone on Friday, "I pledge allegiance to the United States…"

She immediately trailed off realizing her error, before picking up as the Senators said, "… to the United States of America."

One said, "HOLY S**T Kamala Harris doesn't know the Pledge Of Allegiance," while another jibed, "Kamala Harris not knowing all the words to the Pledge of Allegiance is her political career in a nutshell."

"This is absolutely pathetic. Listen as she tries to recite it and completely messes it up. America dodged a bullet," a person remarked. "This might be her most embarrassing moment yet," declared someone else.

"Kamala Harris appears to forget the Pledge of Allegiance during the swearing-in ceremony for new senators. This woman is a heartbeat away from being the president," quipped an individual.

"Our current Border Czar and occasionally Vice-President, Kamala Harris just messed up The Pledge of Allegiance. Oh Kamala, you were never qualified to be VP, let alone the president," chided one more.

"They probably needed to have it on the teleprompter and run it past a focus group before she could really nail it," another comment read.
