Kate Quigley says it was ‘Karma’ after her ‘d-bag ex’ Darius Rucker gets arrested for drug offence
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: Kate Quigley, the ex-girlfriend of country singer Darius Rucker, had a sarcastic reaction to his arrest on drug charges.
The comedian took to social media to mock her former flame, who she dated briefly in 2020.
Kate Quigley calls Darius Rucker a ‘d-bag ex’
On Thursday, February 1, Darius Rucker was booked in a Williamson County jail on misdemeanor drug possession charges, a spokesperson with the Williamson County Sheriff confirmed to The Tennesseean, USA Today reports.
Rucker was released after posting a $10,500 bond. His lawyer Mark Puryear, according to the outlet said he was “fully cooperating with authorities related to the misdemeanor charges.”
Quigley, who survived an accidental overdose that killed three of her friends in September 2021, did not seem to have any sympathy for Rucker.
She wrote on X, “Yes. I’ve heard. All I can say is Karma.” She also posted a photo of herself in a bikini on Instagram, with the caption, “Mood when you hear your d-bag ex got arrested.”

Kate Quigley and Darius Rucker’s short-lived romance
Quigley and Rucker met after he separated from his wife, Beth Leonard, in 2020. They dated for a few months, but their relationship ended before Quigley’s overdose incident in 2021, as per InTouch Daily.

Rucker’s camp also confirmed at the time that they were not together at the time of her hospitalization, as reported by the New York Post.
Quigley was not happy with Rucker’s comments to the media after her ordeal.
He told reporters that she was “doing great”, which she disputed on X. She wrote, “Hi Darius, Could u plz refrain from making public comments about my health or well-being since u haven’t called once to see how i’m doing & have no clue? Thanks Boo Boo!!!”
In another post, she wrote, “That Stung. Won’t lie."

Kate Quigley joked about Darius Rucker’s song
Back then, Quigley also referred to one of Rucker’s biggest hits with his band, Hootie and the Blowfish
She had tweeted, “When i saw the TMZ report i thought, great. He’s probably writing a song about me called, ‘Let Her Die,”’ alluding to their 1994 song, “Let Her Cry.”
Quigley has since deleted some of the posts about Rucker, but not before they went viral online. Rucker has reportedly not responded to her remarks publicly.
