ST LOUIS, MISSOURI: In a harrowing update on Kaylee Gain who was brutally attacked after school, the 16-year-old's parents revealed that their daughter has not regained consciousness, 10 days after the horrifying incident.
The family's attorney Bryan Kaemmerer said "The full scope and extent of Kaylee’s injuries and prognosis for recovery cannot be determined until, with God’s grace, she regains consciousness," reported the New York Post.

The Missouri teen who is the victim of a vicious assault near Hazelwood East High School, Missouri, was repeatedly beaten and her head was slammed against the pavement.
According to Kaemmerer, Gain suffered a fractured skull which resulted in life-threatening brain bleeding and swelling.
"The family asks that you continue to keep Kaylee in your thoughts and prayers as she continues to recover,” the attorney wrote in a statement issued on Monday, March 18.

Kaylee Gain's family set up GoFundMe pages to aid her recovery
Kaemmerer stated that the teenager's relatives are currently focused on her recovery and will eventually attend to the legal side of the criminal case.
“Although the family would like justice to eventually be served through the legal system, their focus at this time is dedicated exclusively to Kaylee’s recovery,” the attorney said.
To meet the expenses of Gain's recovery, two GoFundMe pages were set up and they have already raised more than $340,000.
“Her mother and father are staying by her side night and day hoping to bring her back to the Kaylee they know and love,” read the fundraiser's description.
“Your support would help with lost wages and piling up medical bills due to intensive care treatment," the post added.
Gain's family has urged against any retaliatory actions and has emphasized the need for parents to initiate a discussion with their children about the consequences of violence.
"In closing, Kaylee’s parents ask everyone in the community to continue to pray for her full recovery, and it is hopeful that the publicity associated with this entirely unnecessary incident makes other teenagers realize that momentary violent actions can have life-altering consequences…,” read the statement.
