'Ketamine Queen' Jasveen Sangha made bizarre posts days before her arrest in Matthew Perry's death
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Ketamine Queen' Jasveen Sangha, who allegedly sold Matthew Perry the drugs that ended his life, was bizarrely posting on social media about magic mushrooms till July, according to the Daily Mail.
Five persons, including two doctors, Perry’s live-in personal assistant, and Jasveen Sangha, have been charged in connection with the death of the actor in 2023, according to the US Attorney’s Office.
Jasveen Sangha made bizarre social media posts days before her arrest
Sangha was initially charged with drug offenses in March 2024 after a raid in her residence that uncovered a stash of thousands of pills, three pounds of meth, mushrooms, cocaine, and dozens of vials of ketamine, as per prosecutors.
However, Sangha continued to post about her alleged drug connections in social media posts in July, the DoJ claimed. Prosecutors wrote in a court filing on Thursday, August 15, "As recently as July 24, 2024, defendant posted a photo to social media wearing a bracelet with the word 'MUSHY' and several mushroom charms."
They added, "Notably, defendant was arrested in March 2024 at the Sangha Stash Location with magic mushrooms. And on the photo, defendant added text that reads: 'Pulling out the old raver candy,' and '#ravetothegrave,' suggesting that she cannot be stopped and will persist in her drug lifestyle until death – a callous choice of words, considering that her actions have sent two victims to theirs."
The Justice Department officials were referring to Perry, who died from an injection of ketamine which Sangha allegedly sold to him, and another victim, Cody McLaury, who died in 2019 from a ketamine overdose.
Federal Magistrate Judge Alka Sagar agreed with prosecutors and ordered Sangha to remain in jail until her trial in October.
Sangha pleaded not guilty in court on Thursday after being charged with four others in an 18-count indictment.
Her friends also informed the Daily Mail that Sangha seemed undisturbed by her court case at her 41st birthday party earlier in August, where she gave no sign that she was potentially facing a 10-year sentence or more.
A friend of Sangha said, "I was at her birthday party just the other day and there was no inkling of anything like this going on in her life. She was definitely just a pretty normal person I've known for years."
DEA agent labels Jasveen Sangha 'large volume drug dealer'
Prosecutors have pointed out in their filing arguing for Sangha's detainment that she has dual citizenship with the UK and poses a flight risk.
Los Angeles-based US Attorneys Ian Yanniello and Haoxiaohan Cai added that Sangha 'engaged in a half-decade long drug business selling methamphetamine, ketamine, and other drugs to countless drug buyers'.
An affidavit from DEA Agent Tyler Abrego mentioned that she was a 'large volume drug dealer' and that they recovered from her North Hollywood 'stash house' drugs including around 1,978 gross grams of orange pills that field tested positive for methamphetamine as well as other drugs.
The raid was followed by a charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute filed on March 30. Sangha was initially bailed out by her mother on a $100,000 bond.
