Hoda Kotb shares creative weekend games to keep her children active on 'TODAY' show
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Resuming after the weekend hiatus, 'TODAY' show co-hosts Hoda and Jenna discussed the inclement weather outside and recounted the enjoyable activities they engaged in over the weekend.
In the course of the discussion, Hoda mentioned that she had come up with a fun way to keep her children, Haley, 6, and Hope, 4, active and engaged at home.
"I was worried that my kids were sitting around too much, not doing anything. You know that feeling when you're looking around and everyone is ‘blobbing’?" she began, making Jenna quip, "This is one of the reasons you are like my dad."

"So this is what I did," laughed Hoda, "I asked 'Alexa' to sound an alarm every 15 minutes."
"I am so triggered right now," interjected Jenna, making her co-host pause with laughter.
"The kids are barefoot and it's cold outside," continued Hoda after somewhat composing herself. "So I said, and we are all gonna do it - every 15 minutes, we're gonna go outside, we're gonna run to the end (of the street), tag this pole and come back."
"The kids were delighted," she added, bursting into peals of laughter again.
"Okay, so your kids were barefoot in New York City?" asked Jenna, sounding incredulous and concerned. Her co-host assured her that they were outside the city.
"One kid stayed inside and yelled out of the sliding door, 'Go! You can do it!" and it was so much fun," mentioned Hoda.
Jenna Bush Hager related to her co-host's feeling
“Sometimes I just hear Henry say to himself, ‘Why don’t our kids ever want to do anything?’” Jenna revealed, "And I'm like, 'Honey if you had the opportunity to just lounge after you've been totally overscheduled for a whole semester … sometimes we just got to let the kids lounge.'"
"What about when they say 'There is nothing to do?'" questioned Hoda, to which Jenna replied, "Don't complain about being lazy when you just want to be lazy."

The co-host shared her own fun weekend activity of going to watch Moulin Rouge with her children. "They were a little confused with some of the scenes but they LOVED it," she said.
"I haven't seen theatre in a while, and to go and be in a theatre, I had chills! It was like a really incredible experience," she added.
