Kimberly Guilfoyle reveals how 'threatened' Kamala Harris tried to stop her from getting job
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Kimberly Guilfoyle recently revealed how current Vice President and Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris tried to stop her from getting a job in the San Francisco District Attorney’s office more than two decades ago, per The New York Times.
She added that Harris even went so far as to falsely pose as a member of the hiring committee and added that the Vice President was 'threatened' by her.
Kimberly Guilfoyle reveals how Kamala Harris tried to stop her from getting job
Former District Attorney Terence Hallinan, who died in 2020 and was their boss at the time, largely sided with Guilfoyle’s version of events even though Harris claimed she never suggested Guilfoyle couldn’t have a job, per the newspaper.
The incident reportedly took place somewhere around 2000 when Harris phoned up Guilfoyle, who was a lawyer at the Los Angeles district attorney’s office, and told her there was no job for her.
Guilfoyle informed the news outlet, "She pretended to be a member of the hiring committee, which didn’t exist. She was threatened. Most things in life make sense—jealousy, envy."
Hallinan said that Harris 'forbade' him from hiring Guilfoyle even though he was her boss and he didn’t listen to her. He hired Guilfoyle and wrote 'Timing is everything!' in a note to an aide explaining her return, the New York Times reported.
Stanlee Gatti, a friend of Harris and best man at Guilfoyle’s wedding to Gavin Newsom said, "If she ever did do that, she was smart."
Kamala Harris and Kimberly Guilfoyle's 'personal' rivalry
People who were around Harris and Kimberly Guilfoyle in 2000 didn’t see their clash back then as political but it looked like there was some kind of 'personal conflict in their social circles.'
Guilfoyle told the media outlet about Harris, "She wasn’t supportive about lifting women up."
The two didn’t work together for a long time but formed two parts of a triumvirate that was considered the future of Democratic politics in California. Harris left the DA’s office by the end of 2000 and formed a successful campaign to remove Hallinan in 2003.
On the other hand, Guilfoyle became a television fixture because of her media savvy as a prosecutor. She wore a bulletproof vest under her evening gowns when it was reported that a hit had been put out on her, according to The New York Times.
Guilfoyle also took jibes at Harris in the Chronicle over her alleged attempt to keep her out of a job when she and Newsom were set to take office in 2003.
Internet slams Kimberly Guilfoyle
People on Reddit slammed Kimberly Guilfoyle as she revealed how Kamala Harris tried to stop her from getting a job in the San Francisco District Attorney’s office more than two decades ago.
A user said, "So Harris tried to block a wacko? Good."
Another added, "Sounds like Harris demonstrated good judgement. Where's the problem?"
A person also stated, "Kimberly, you don't have a right to a job. And anybody who hires you will receive no money from me," whereas one mentioned, "No sane person would hire her, that's why she's part of the Trump campaign."
A user also wrote, "If somebody asked you about Kimberly, would you say she would be a good candidate for a job? I can totally see why Kamala wouldn't recommend her," while one commented, "Not sure if that is supposed to be an argument for or against Kamala."
A person added, "Harris didn't allow Guilfoyle to accept the role of Rita Repulsa on Power Rangers?"
