Burnt body found in house garage

According to the Daily Mail, a murder investigation has been launched by the police following the gruesome discovery in Quartz Hill on Wednesday morning. Authorities are actively searching for the owner of the house where the burnt body was found in the garage.

The woman, locally identified as a 27-year-old elementary school teacher in nearby Palmdale, is believed to have experienced the horror in the early hours, according to neighbors on 31st West Street.

One resident stated, "Around 2 am, I heard a blood-curdling scream. I had just opened my window after finishing some work, and when I went to check, I didn't hear it anymore."

Police swiftly located the owner of the house, identified as 37-year-old Matthew Switalski, a bible school graduate employed as a cost controller at aerospace company Northrop Grumman.

Neighbors on the 41400 block revealed that Switalski rented out several rooms in the five-bedroom home to company employees, none of whom seem to have been present at the time of the fire.

Firefighters arrived at crime scene

Firefighters arrived around 8:20 am and spent an hour bringing the blaze under control.

Lt Daniel Vizcarra of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated, “As the firefighters were clearing the garage, they discovered a body, and then they informed the deputies. The person was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The victim's uncle characterized her as 'quiet' and mentioned that the school where she worked had contacted the family when she didn't show up for work. He revealed that she had been in a relationship for about a year, and neighbors informed the channel that her boyfriend owned the property.

Using a circular drill, firefighters accessed the car, which was parked next to another badly damaged car. Police were unable to initiate their inquiry with any of the residents, as none had come forward at that point.

Vizcarra claimed, “We are trying to get in contact with all the residents”.

One neighbor asserted, “It’s very unsettling to know that it’s down the street”.

It is worth mentioning that no arrests have been made, and the investigation is still on.
