Lil Nas X’s reply seemed to fuel Azealia Banks further

Lil Nas X’s reply only seemed to fuel Azealia Banks further, and she quickly fired back with an equally fiery response.

Doubling down on her original post, Banks launched into another series of insults, insisting that Lil Nas X’s achievements weren’t as impressive as they seemed.

“U have no success n****,” she wrote, accusing him of exploiting certain tropes in his music and public image. “It's giving buckbroke raceplay uncle Tom a** eater. Not u begging me to be on ur little trash a** song. U mad I declined. Booooooooooooo b****. Ur over.”

Banks continued her rant, claiming that Lil Nas X’s breakthrough hit 'Old Town Road' only succeeded due to “charity work” from his collaborators and producers.

"U was out here with flies in the corner of your eyes eating a bowl of porridge with a swollen belly b****, saved you for 0.67cents a day head a** COME THE F*** AGAIN HO @LilNasX i will really smack fire out u b****. Sit down," she raged.

Moving from X to Instagram, he shared a message that surprised many by striking a more conciliatory and supportive tone.

The message, posted to his Instagram Story, expressed well-wishes for Banks and acknowledged her talent, even as he urged her to move past what he saw as unnecessary online antagonism.

“Idc what u f*** s*** u say about me,” he continued. “I wanna see u win and shine your light. U can drop this internet bully act at any time. Ur fans love u. We love u.”
