At the event, Nicole Kidman was joined by several celebrities, including Anna Wintour, Kyle MacLachlan, and Bill Skarsgård, seated in the front row alongside Salma Hayek and her husband, François-Henri Pinault.

Pinault, the CEO of Kering, which owns luxury brands like Balenciaga, Gucci, and Saint Laurent, was there to support his wife’s efforts to promote their brands.

However, a moment during the event went viral when the 'Big Little Lies' star appeared to push Hayek away.

In the video, Hayek attempted to turn Kidman toward the photographers.

UK based expert lip reader Jeremy Freeman analyzed their interaction and shared insights with UNILAD, clarifying that Hayek said, "Let's turn there. OK, here," while trying to reposition Kidman for the cameras.

Kidman reportedly responded, "Hey, I'm fine, I'm good," before leaning in to kiss Katy Perry, who was also present there.

As she stepped away from what seemed like a tense moment, Kidman remarked, "There, that's enough, it's OK."

Hayek seemed a little taken aback after being dismissed by Kidman. While walking away, Kidman then seemed to say, "You don't need it", and Hayek said "I do", but the exact context of their exchange remains unclear.

As of October 15, neither actress has publicly addressed the incident.

Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek’s video showing awkward moment goes viral

The viral video of Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek has sparked widespread speculation among fans who believe the two shared a tense moment.

Many interpreted their comments as signs of stress, especially given that this was Kidman's first public appearance since her mother's passing.

Fans speculated that what appeared to be a fiery exchange might stem from Kidman's recent emotional challenges. Social media users also noted other instances from the evening where Kidman and Hayek seemed to be interacting well.

Hayek even took to Instagram on October 1 to share a photo of herself with Kidman, showcasing what appeared to be awkward body language.

In her post, she captioned, "Finally, last night the grand finale of my Paris Fashion Week 2025… [applauds] Balenciaga and Demna for a terrific show."
