IDAHO, UNITED STATES: The 16-year-old and her seven-year-old younger brother JJ vanished in September 2019; their bodies were found in her stepfather's backyard in June 2020.

In May, their mother Vallow was found guilty of both their murders and of plotting to kill Tammy, the ex-wife of her husband Chad Daybell. In April 2024, Daybell is scheduled to go on trial for the killings of the children.

Idaho judge Steven Boyce released Tylee Ryan's remains

On Thursday, an Idaho judge made a decision allowing Tylee's remains to be returned to her family.

District Judge Steven Boyce declared, "It is hereby ordered that the body of Tylee Ryan may be released to her next of kin."

It follows the October disposition of her brother JJ's remains to family members. Since the horrifying discovery, the state of Idaho has been in possession of their remains. Tylee will now have the opportunity to be buried by her family thanks to the order releasing her body.

Daybell has also been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of the young children, and a judge decided on Tuesday that, should he be found guilty, he could receive the death penalty.

On November 9, his legal team filed two motions in Fremont County asking that the death penalty be excluded from consideration as a possible punishment. However, the judge overseeing the case rejected both.

In May, Vallow was found guilty of murdering her two children as a part of a twisted religious scheme. On December 7, she appeared in court again to answer to two counts of plotting to kill her relatives after turning into a violent fanatic.

Mother of 'Doomsday Cult' faces charges of plotting murder

The mother of the 'Doomsday Cult' is charged with plotting to murder her niece Brandon Boudreaux's husband and her brother Charles Vallow in July 2019 along with her brother Alex Cox, DailyMail reported.

In order to face the charges, Vallow was extradited from Idaho to Arizona last week. For the planned murder of Boudreaux in February 2022 and the death of Vallow in June 2021, she was charged.

After a turbulent marriage with doomsday author Chad Daybell in late 2019, Vallow allegedly developed an obsession with the impending apocalypse, which coincided with her alleged plans to murder her relatives.

Vallow made a fleeting appearance, cuffed and dressed in an orange jail jumpsuit, as she gave her name and admitted to the accusations made against her. Following her extradition, she was checked into the Maricopa County Jail last week, where she is being held without bond.

The extra charges against her follow a grand jury's 2021 indictment of Vallow in relation to Charles's death at the hands of Cox, who shot and killed him in her Arizona home.

Alex Cox claimed self-defense in murder of Charles Vallow

Cox, who passed away naturally in December 2019, maintained that he killed Charles in self-defense, but the prosecution believes the killing was premeditated because the sister and brother had both fallen victim to apocalyptic beliefs.

According to the story, Vallow and Cox, who are both devoted Mormons, thought that the end of the world was near, and that their relatives were infected with zombies and needed to be killed in order to save them.

The family allegedly used religious fanaticism as a pretext to carry out the murders, according to the prosecution.

In October 2019, just after JJ and Tylee were last seen alive, Brandon Boudreaux, the husband of Vallow's niece, was shot at from a moving car but escaped unharmed. This incident was part of the plot.

At the time, Boudreaux allegedly told investigators he thought Cox was driving. It is alleged that Cox and Lori planned to kill Boudreaux and Charles Vallow because they were speaking out against the extreme religious beliefs that had taken hold of their family.

Wearing handcuffs and an orange prison jumpsuit, Vallow made a fleeting appearance on Thursday.

She gave her name and admitted to the charges against her. Following her extradition, she was checked into the Maricopa County Jail last week, where she is being held without bond.
