AUBURN, WASHINGTON: Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn, Washington, was the scene of a vicious, all-out assault that claimed the life of a twenty-nine-year-old male. The victim was sitting at a table when a man walked up to him from behind and knifed him in the neck.
The 29-year-old died on the spot at the casino. The victim, whose identity the police have withheld, was unrelated to the alleged murderer. The police have also not revealed the identity of the 31-year-old suspect.
Authorities say murder was a 'completely random act'
A 29-year-old man was standing at one of the tables in the casino when another man came up behind him and stabbed him in the neck. The murder was described by the authorities as a "completely random act."
According to police spokesperson Kolby Crossley, the victim had no knowledge of the danger, which explains the severity of the incident. "It's a scary and terrible situation that occurred and this person had no idea what was going to happen to them," Crossley stated.
There was nothing to suggest that the murderer was attempting to conceal his crime. The vicious stabbing "happened at the casino on the casino floor," Crossley told Fox13.
"There were a lot of people around. There were a lot of cameras," he remarked. "The suspect was arrested at the scene 'without incident," he added.
Auburn police have now opened an investigation into the incident, but they are up against a very difficult and perplexing case.
What was the motive behind the killing?
It will be challenging to determine a motive because there was no prior contact between the murderer and the victim. However, Auburn law enforcement is still upbeat. Crossley said, "We're going to figure out why and how and what drove this person to act so heinously."
"When officers arrived on scene, they found a male (29) with a stab wound to the neck. Despite life-saving measures, the victim was later pronounced dead at the scene," it further stated.
According to the press release, "Early investigation shows this stabbing was a completely random act. The victim was standing at one of the tables and the suspect (31) walked up behind him and stabbed him in the neck area."
"Detectives believe the victim and suspect had no contact before the incident," the statement continued. The suspect was arrested without incident and was booked into King County Jail.
