Matt Bomer tells Jimmy Fallon about 'inspiring' Taylor Swift encounter and missed chance to play Ken
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Matt Bomer, known for his roles in 'White Collar' and 'Magic Mike', made a recent appearance on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon', where he dished on some fun behind-the-scenes moments with Taylor Swift.
Bomer also revealed a surprising story about nearly playing Ken in a live-action Barbie movie.
Backstage with Taylor Swift
During his chat with Jimmy Fallon, Bomer delved into his experiences backstage at Brad Paisley's tour opener, where he found himself in the company of pop sensation Taylor Swift.
Bomer, a good friend of Brad Paisley, joined the country singer's tour opener in Nashville.
While there, he also had the chance to catch up with Taylor Swift, who was a special guest performer.
He shared with Fallon about the "joyful" and "fun" atmosphere backstage, where he witnessed Swift's incredible talent and down-to-earth personality.
Bomer described Swift as an incredibly kind individual, adding a layer of relatability to her star persona.
"She's just the most genuine, wonderful person," Bomer said about Swift. "And to see her perform, she's just a force of nature on that stage. It was really inspiring."
Matt Bomer missed chance to play Ken
Moreover, Bomer humorously revealed a narrowly missed opportunity to portray Ken, Barbie's iconic companion.
In a surprising tidbit about his early career, Bomer shared that he was almost cast as Ken in a live-action Barbie movie that was in development years ago.
However, the project ultimately fell through.
"It was actually a thing," Bomer said about the movie. "We went through a lot of development and casting, and I was heavily involved in it. But for whatever reason, it just didn't come together."
While disappointed that the Barbie movie didn't happen, Bomer remains optimistic about future opportunities. He expressed his love for the iconic toy and the positive message it represents.
"I think Barbie is a great character, and I would have loved to be a part of bringing her to life in a live-action film," Bomer said. "But maybe someday, something else will come along."
