LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a surprising revelation, Meghan Markle reportedly sought free clothes and handbags f,rom Victoria Beckham while engaged to Prince Harry, as reported by New York Post.

This claim is made by celebrity biographer Tom Bower in his newly released book, 'The House of Beckham', which details the strained relationship between Markle and the Beckhams.

According to Bower, Markle's request for complimentary fashion items was denied by Buckingham Palace, as it violated their rules. Despite this setback, Markle and the Beckhams were once close friends, with Markle even staying at their Beverly Hills home during a visit to Los Angeles.

During Markle's engagement to Prince Harry, a member of Victoria Beckham's staff provided her with beauty advice, including recommendations for top facials and hairdressers in London. However, the relationship soured when Markle believed Victoria had leaked personal information to the press. The Sun reported that Victoria had given Markle makeup advice, leading Markle to suspect Victoria of being the source of the leak.

“Only after The Sun reported how Victoria had given Meghan makeup advice did the relationship between the two ambitious women crash,” Bower wrote.

Bower writes that Prince Harry was instructed to confront David Beckham about the alleged leak. David Beckham, in turn, questioned Victoria, who denied the accusation and blamed a beautician instead.

The tension between the two couples reportedly escalated, exacerbated by Markle's envy of the Beckhams' wealth and access to luxuries like private jets and yachts.

The strained relationship culminated at Markle and Prince Harry's 2018 wedding. Although the Beckhams attended, Victoria was reportedly "insulted" that they were not invited to a celebrity-filled dinner that included George Clooney. Bower describes Victoria as looking "stony-faced" in photos from the ceremony at St. George's Chapel.

Despite the fallout, Markle showed professional support for Victoria by wearing a coat from her collection during Christmas 2018 and another outfit for the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey in 2019. However, the tension between the couples remains apparent, as Harry and Meghan were notably absent from the 2022 Palm Beach wedding of David and Victoria's son, Brooklyn Beckham, to Nicola Peltz.

Tom Bower's book provides a detailed account of the ups and downs of the relationship between Meghan Markle and the Beckhams, shedding light on the complexities and challenges of maintaining friendships in the public eye.

Meghan Markle's alleged request for free clothes and handbags from Victoria Beckham has sparked a flurry of reactions online. According to Tom Bower's new book, 'The House of Beckham,' this incident led to a significant fallout between Markle and the Beckham family. Here's how the internet is responding:

One user expressed disbelief at Markle's actions, saying, "Freebies aren't allowed in the Royal family. She had to know that. I knew that and I'm not even a royal nor have I dated a royal."

Another user criticized Markle's history with borrowing items, "Considering how many times Meghan helped herself to things she wore opening a briefcase or wearing things for interviews, etc and never returned them, just leaving with them and assuming they belonged to her now, I'm not surprised she thought the minute VB remotely seemed like a friend, Meghan would start trying to help herself to VB's closet as well."

One user commented, "Love Victoria and David! They have a nice family, kids are never in trouble and they treat others with respect."

Another wrote this sentiment, "I'm no big fan of Victoria Beckham but she earned her own fortune before she married Beckham."

One user remarked, "How Megsy is not embarrassed by her greed is beyond me. She is a D-list actor at best, certainly not royalty or even a celebrity. She always has her hand out for anything free & a 'give me, give me, look at me' attitude. I love how she is so jealous of everything & everybody who has more than she has. Marrying hairless Harry she still does not understand how he is not a rich billionaire."
