LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Megyn Kelly has predicted that MSNBC will soon part ways with Joy Reid after the host made controversial remarks regarding president-elect Donald Trump's immigration policies.

Kelly expressed concern that Reid's inflammatory rhetoric was not only divisive but could eventually lead to her dismissal from the network.

Megyn Kelly accuses Joy Reid of inciting racial division after she suggests Donald Trump's policies could target legal immigrants

In a recent episode of her SiriusXM podcast, 'The Megyn Kelly Show', Megyn Kelly criticized Joy Reid's statements, particularly those made on Friday evening during her MSNBC broadcast where she speculated that Trump’s policies would target legal immigrants, including those with green cards. Kelly accused Reid of inciting racial division and of fueling unrest.

“She wants a race riot. That’s really what you take away listening to Joy Reid,” Kelly said, adding “She actually does want some sort of rioting in the streets, some sort of race revolt.”

Kelly's comments followed Reid's on-air predictions that Trump’s administration would carry out mass deportations of legal immigrants after taking office. Reid argued that even people who had come to the US through legal means might not be safe under Trump’s aggressive immigration agenda.

“Don’t think because you have a green card and came through the ‘right way’ — if you’re brown, you may not stick around,” Reid said on her Friday, November 8, broadcast. She continued: “I don’t think they care whether you have a green card or not. They’re pulling people out and taking people out of this country whether you like it or not.”

Joy Reid's 'meat ax' criticism of Donald Trump’s immigration policies sparks backlash

Joy Reid’s prediction of mass deportations was part of her broader criticism of Donald Trump’s immigration policies, which she described as a "meat ax approach."

She suggested that Trump's policies would lead to “de-naturalization” — stripping Americans of their citizenship. Her controversial statements were amplified by her subsequent comments on her TikTok channel where she advised liberal White women not to invite Black women to protest marches against Trump. According to Reid, Black women would not participate, preferring instead to prioritize their own communities over any efforts to “save America.”

Kelly strongly disagreed with Reid’s rhetoric, accusing the MSNBC host of promoting racial hate. “The Comcast-owned cable network is allowing her to spew this racist hate on their channel,” Kelly said.

She went on to predict that it would be only a matter of time before MSNBC fired Reid. "It’s a tick-tock situation until her ass is fired,” Kelly added, suggesting that Reid's controversial remarks would not go unpunished for long.

Joy Reid criticizes latino voters, sparking backlash over racial polarization

According to the New York Post, Joy Reid also made waves earlier in the week when she discussed Latino voters who supported Donald Trump. On her Thursday broadcast, she claimed that Latino men who voted for Trump would “own” the administration’s immigration policies, a statement that was widely seen as an attempt to alienate and criticize a key demographic that had shifted toward the Republican candidate in the 2024 election.

Trump’s immigration policies have been a central issue in his campaign and are expected to be a major focus during his second term. He has promised to deport millions of illegal immigrants, which contributed to his resounding victory over Vice President Kamala Harris.

In addition, exit polls indicated that a significant number of Latino men had shifted their support to Trump, adding to the controversy surrounding Reid's comments.

Reid's remarks sparked backlash from many, including Kelly, who believes her rhetoric contributes to racial polarization and undermines attempts to foster unity.

Joy Reid's interview with psychiatrist advocating for family breakups adds to controversy

During the same broadcast, Joy Reid interviewed a Yale-affiliated psychiatrist who advised LGBTQ+ people to sever ties with family members who voted for Trump, suggesting that they should cut out these relatives for the sake of their mental health.

As of now, MSNBC has not issued any public statement regarding Reid's future at the network. However, Kelly's prediction that Reid may soon be out of a job has sparked discussion about the role of cable news in shaping political discourse, with many questioning whether networks should hold their hosts accountable for promoting divisive narratives.
