John-Paul Miller requests people to keep his wife's 'family in prayers'
John-Paul Miller, the 30-year-old's wife, revealed the news of her death to the congregation on Sunday, April 28, at Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach.
“I got a call late last night; my wife has passed away. It was self-induced and it was up in North Carolina,” Miller said, reports New York Post.
He continued: "Y’all pray for me and my kids and everybody. You all knew she wasn’t well mentally and she needed medicine that was hard to get to her. I’m sure there will be more details to come, but keep her family in your prayers.”
Miller instructed the audience to "leave church quietly and don't talk about the announcement here in the building" before making the announcement. He continued: "I'm taking a little bit of a break; it might be a few days or weeks."
What did Mica Miller's friends say?
Some of Mica's friends and family have expressed doubts about what transpired, and the Robeson County Sheriff's Office is looking into her death. Mica's friend Kenn Young is one of the people looking for solutions.
"This has to be at least looked into deeply. There's got to be some accountability here," he told WPDE. "Because yeah, a tragic life was lost, and it's not just as simple as mental health issues."
Sierra Francis, Mica's sister, stated on Facebook, "There is a lot of talk already going on, so I want to set the record straight. Our sister Mica Miller passed away yesterday."
"Please do not listen to false stories being shared about her. Mica was a God-fearing, joyful, loving woman. We know that so many of you feel this gut-wrenching loss with us. The fight is not over."
According to court records obtained by the New York Post, Mica filed for her husband's divorce in October 2023. Mica, 30, was one of five sisters born in Wichita, Kansas, according to her obituary.
The text states, "Mica was energetic, affirming, adventurous, faithful, loving, giving, forgiving, talented, joyous, creative, assertive, bold, determined, authoritative, passionate, hardworking, a risk taker, and so much more. She and JP have been friends since 2009, married in 2017, and spent almost every single day and night together."
