Michael Bolton discovered a brain tumor just before the holidays

In January, Michael Bolton disclosed his health condition to fans, stating he had been diagnosed with a brain tumor and required immediate surgery towards the end of 2023.

"Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery. Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success," Bolton wrote on Facebook.

He mentioned taking a break from touring to focus on recovery. "I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family," he added.

Bolton acknowledged his temporary break from the stage, saying, "It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon."

Michael Bolton canceled shows but assures fans of progress

Fans grew concerned in August after reports surfaced about several police cars at Michael Bolton's Connecticut home. The singer reassured fans via X, formerly Twitter, writing, "All is good!! Just prepping for a small landscape project 😄. Thanks for checking!"

In October, Bolton canceled several concerts, explaining that he was still in recovery.

"It is challenging and often times frustrating because I just want to be out there performing for you but I need a little more time to build back my full strength and stamina," the 'Missing You Now' singer wrote on Facebook.

Bolton confirmed that while he hasn't yet fully recovered, he has been working on exciting projects. "My progress is good and I have been able to get a little work done on a couple exciting projects that you’ll be hearing about very soon," he said.

The singer is scheduled to return to the stage in July 2025 with a performance at the O2 in London, according to his website.
