DETROIT, MICHIGAN: Samantha Woll, a leader in a Detroit synagogue, was stabbed eight times in the face and neck while sleeping in her living room after attending a wedding. New evidence from the Daily Mail suggests that the suspect's coat was stained with her blood.

Michael Jackson-Bolanos, the accused, is scheduled to appear in court for a probable cause hearing on January 2. The defense team for the defendant may consider examining evidence, such as his coat, which reportedly has Woll's blood on it, according to JNS.

Samantha Woll was stabbed eight times

Fresh information has surfaced regarding the brutal murder of Detroit synagogue leader Samantha Woll. Reports indicate that she suffered eight stab wounds and traces of her blood were discovered on the suspect's coat.

According to Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor Ryan Elsey, it's believed that the Jewish community leader was asleep in her living room following a wedding when Michael Jackson-Bolanos purportedly entered the premises around 4:20 a.m.

Before Woll was found by a neighbor around 6:30 a.m. after she staggered outside, it was reported that the assailant stabbed her eight times in the face and neck within her Lafayette Park residence. Woll was declared deceased at the scene.

Elsey asserts that the presence of Woll's blood on Jackson-Bolanos' coat is one of the pieces of evidence linking him to the crime.

The court appearance on January 2 before 36th District Judge Kenneth King will be a probable cause hearing.

Jackson-Bolanos entered a not guilty plea

Jackson-Bolanos has pleaded not guilty to the charges of felony murder, breaking, and lying to a police officer. Officials have mentioned that Woll's door was found unlocked, refuting any suggestion of forced entry into her home.

Detroit Police Chief James White indicated that the 28-year-old had been briefly held for questioning several weeks before his arrest regarding a series of burglaries. Following his release, he remained under surveillance while investigators continued their inquiry.

"Once he was released, we kept an eye on him until we had enough to ultimately make an arrest," White said.

Jackson-Bolanos has a history of prior convictions related to vehicle theft and concealment, with records suggesting he displayed violent behavior during his time in prison.

Initially, there was a presumption that Woll, the board president of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, was the victim of a hate crime.

However, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy stated that there was no substantiated evidence to support the assertion that Woll's death resulted from antisemitism or constituted a hate crime.

"There are no facts to suggest this defendant knew Ms. Woll,'' Worthy said.

Woll held a prominent role in the community, actively involved beyond her duties at the synagogue. Apart from her leadership there, she had contributed to the team of Democratic US Rep Elissa Slotkin and had also participated in the political campaign of state Attorney General Dana Nessel.

Initially, law enforcement had apprehended a different individual connected to the case, but this person was released in November.

"This was an extraordinarily sad and tragic case," Worthy said. She added, "This takes time. We never want to rush to judgment.''
