MIAMI, FLORIDA: Two three-year-old twins were tragically found dead shortly before 2 am on Friday, February 2, as per the Daily Mail.
After their mother attempted suicide, a Florida father's twins were discovered dead and foaming at the mouth inside an SUV. The father has since shared his sorrow.
Who were the victims?
The tragic episode enfolded Friday, February 2 morning in Miami, when twins Milendhere Gabriel Napoleon Cadet and Milenjhit Gabriella Napoleon Cadet, aged just three, were found shortly before 2am, after their 42-years-old mother, Shirlene Alcime jumped off over a nearby overpass.
First responders raced to the site and bystanders discovered the girls, who were taken to Jackson North Medical Center and later declared dead.
Their devastated father Milson Caldet, speaking Haitian Creole, wept as he talked of his children's sudden passing, adding, "I really loved my kids."
The twins' official cause of death has not been released, however, Local 10 reported that they were foaming at the mouth.
As per local portal WSVN, a 911 dispatcher described them as suffering cardiac arrest.
It is believed that Alcime attempted to commit suicide by leaping over a bridge onto train tracks below, leaving her children inside her car.
Mother of two Toddler's is in critical condition
Police have not stated if they believe she killed her daughters on purpose prior to attempting suicide.
Alcime lived despite the considerable distance between the train lines and the bridge, and he was taken to a neighboring hospital. She was reported to be in a coma by local media, and her status is categorized as critical.
A friend of the mother said her actions 'weren't at all like her', and Caldet said he had no idea what happened after failing to reach Alcime for several days.
Speaking through a translator, the father said, "I went to the office, I called her, but she never picked up... that's not the kind of person she is." He described his daughters as fun and excitable young children, and said, ''Normally when I come in the door, they come and they hug me. I can’t, really, I can’t talk right now."
Additionally, Police said the investigation remains active. "Right now, our investigators are working to piece this tragic incident together,"said Miami-Dade Police Department Detective Andre Martin. He added, "There are many, many questions that they have that they’re working to find the answers to."
