Missouri AG calls for adult trial for 15-year-old whose brutal assault left teen in critical condition

SPANISH LAKE, MISSOURI: Missouri's Attorney General is advocating for the 15-year-old girl allegedly involved in a violent incident near a Missouri high school to face trial as an adult.
The victim, also a teenager, is in critical condition with severe head injuries following the altercation.

The incident took place at approximately 2:30 pm on Friday, March 8. Footage circulating on social media depicts one girl repeatedly pushing the victim's head against the concrete following a series of punches

Following the assault, the victim was found near the high school campus suffering from severe injuries. She was rushed to the hospital and remains in critical condition. A 15-year-old girl was arrested the following Saturday and charged with assault, with authorities taking her into custody pending further investigation.
Attorney General Andrew Bailey emphasized the seriousness of the incident, stating, "This evil and complete disregard for human life has no place in Missouri, or anywhere. I am praying for the victim. The criminal should be charged and tried as an adult. If the victim dies, that offense should rise to a homicide."
Community reacts to disturbing altercation
The disturbing incident unfolded near Hazelwood East High School, prompting students to leave early on Monday, due to concerns over multiple threats related to a viral video depicting the altercation.
The St. Louis County Police Department is currently looking into the incident, while the Hazelwood School District has released a statement condemning violence and expressing condolences to all affected parties. "It is a tragedy anytime children are hurt," the statement claimed.
"Bullying and fighting in the community is an issue for which we all need to take ownership and work towards a resolution for the sake of our children. The Hazelwood School District offers our sincerest condolences to everyone involved and will offer additional emotional support from our support and crisis team to those in need."
