NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: At present, several media outlets, including MSNBC and CNN, are discussing what a possible second term with Donald Trump could be like, should he win the 2024 presidential election.

The Atlantic’s January/February 2024 Issue centers around 24 writers imagining what a second term with Trump would look like, and it was discussed on MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' by co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough.

However, Scarborough's comments regarding the ex-POTUS weren't well-received, garnering backlash from netizens.

'Morning Joe' host Joe Scarborough slams Donald Trump

Talking about a recent phone call, Joe Scarborough said, "I got a call on Friday from somebody who said, 'I feel I'm your spokesman. Anytime people are angry at Morning Joe, they call me'."

The host responded, "Well, who would ever be angry at Morning Joe, we are beloved by everybody."

The ‘Morning Joe’ host went on to explain that most of the complaints against him were about being too "anti-Trump."

Scarborough noted, "When you have somebody who says, he says, he writes it down on Truth Social, that he wants to terminate the Constitution, jail political opponents, let me say this again, this is not -- this is not Trump hatred. This is using Trump's words, just like saying he was the one who terminated Roe v. Wade."

"When you have somebody running for office that said they want to terminate the Constitution," continued the ‘Morning Joe’ host.

He asserted, "They want to jail political opponents, they want to execute generals who were insufficiently loyal, they want to create mass internment camps to send immigrants there, they want to take networks off the air that are insufficiently loyal, and try their executives for treason, that's what he says."

The ’Morning Joe’ host then questioned, "How am I being too difficult? How are you being too difficult? How is anybody who loves American democracy being difficult by pointing out the danger that is in front of all of us if this guy gets back into the White House?"

Internet slams Joe Scarborough over his stance on Donald Trump

Following 'Morning Joe' host Joe Scarborough’s response to being called "anti-Trump" and highlighting the "danger" of the ex-POTUS' return to the White House, he faced some backlash on social media.

One mocked, "Ahh Joey, we’ll try to get you in a Mar Lago party if it means that much to you!!" and another wrote, "Cry more baby."

"Joe playing the victim card. Pathetic," claimed a person, while someone else added, "Stop gaslighting & spreading disinformation."

A user stated, "because there is no danger. Real disaster is a Biden term," with one more asserting, "try HARDER He WILL be Your President AGAIN 😂."
