Inside Ruby Franke's prison sentencing
Based on the terms of their plea deal, a judge sentenced Franke and Hildebrandt to four counts of one to 15 years which is to be served consecutively.
As the Utah law that caps jail terms on consecutive sentences, both women will serve 30 years maximum because of a Utah law that caps imprisonment time on consecutive sentences.
Franke has no plans to appeal her prison sentence. During the court hearing for her sentencing, the 42-year-old momfluencer tearfully apologized to her children, calling them her "six little chicks."
"I was the mama duck who was consistently waddling you to safety. I can see now that over the past four years, I was in a deep undercurrent that led us to danger,” Franke said during the hearing on Tuesday, February 20.
"I took from you, your mother. How terrifying this must have been for you. I will never stop crying for hurting your tender souls. You’re so precious to me. I’m sorry," she added.
The abuse inflicted on the six children came to light after fans and neighbors expressed concerns after observing instances of suggestive of harm in their YouTube videos, including Chad admitting that he slept on a bean bag for seven months as punishment for a prank.
Franke had been estranged from her eldest son Chad and eldest daughter, Shari, before her arrest in August 2023.
Child Protective Services visited the family and closed the case after authorities spoke to the children.
“It was just so malicious. They knew what they were doing was out of context. They were purely seeking to throw hate. That was their only objective," Franke told an insider of the visit, according to PageSix.
