STEPHENS COUNTY, OKLAHOMA: The 19-year-old Oklahoma woman was apprehended on March 17, 2024, following an incident where she wielded a kitchen knife to stab her boyfriend twice.
The altercation erupted when she caught sight of her boyfriend exchanging messages with another woman, Natalia Charies leading her to a state of fury.
Interestingly, it was later revealed that the man was simply communicating with his aunt, not a potential romantic interest as initially suspected by law enforcement.
Subsequent investigation unveiled that Charies was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana at the time of the incident.
Duncan police found a male victim with two stab wounds
According to Law&Crime, Duncan police were alerted around 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 17th, to disturbances at Creekside Apartments following reports from concerned neighbors regarding a heated argument between a man and a woman.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers heard loud yelling and what appeared to be objects being forcefully slammed against the apartment building's exterior.
Neighbors directed the officers to the specific apartment where the commotion was originating, prompting them to approach the door. Upon inspection, traces of blood were discovered on the door and threshold, yet no response was elicited from within.
Faced with this situation, the officers resorted to breaking down the door with a sledgehammer. Upon entry, they encountered a woman, later identified as 19-year-old Natalia Chaires, who was promptly placed in handcuffs.
The scene inside the apartment revealed blood scattered across the floor.
Further exploration led officers to a bedroom where they discovered a male victim wrapped in a red and white blanket, also stained with blood.
The victim had sustained two stab wounds: one on his upper left arm and another beneath his left armpit, according to police reports. Paramedics swiftly transported the injured man to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
A subsequent search of the premises uncovered a bloodstained kitchen knife in the sink.
Police interviewed man and woman at hospital
During an interview conducted at the hospital by detectives, the man recounted that Natalia Chaires had stabbed him following his text exchange with his aunt.
According to the affidavit, Chaires expressed her distress upon witnessing him texting another woman, apparently mistaken about the recipient being his aunt.
She purportedly admitted to law enforcement officers that she was intoxicated with alcohol and marijuana at the time and acknowledged feeling "a little crazy."
Furthermore, Chaires reportedly confessed to attempting to clean the knife she had utilized to assault her boyfriend.
Consequently, she was arrested on charges of assault and battery likely to cause serious harm and attempted destruction of evidence.
Natalia Chaires was then remanded to Stephens County Jail, where she was granted bail set at $150K.
