Nick Carter slams sexual assault accuser as singer claims allegations are 'factually impossible'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nick Carter has blasted Shannon Ruth for accusing him of sexual assault and also filed a motion in a court, requesting a hearing and summary judgment on her lawsuit.
The singer took action to prove his innocence on May 7 while claiming that it was “factually impossible” that he raped the then-17-year-old Ruth over two decades ago, PEOPLE reported.
Nick Carter claims he ‘did not rape’ Shannon Ruth
The filing states, “Carter is entitled to summary judgment in this case and should not be forced to proceed to trial in a matter where the plaintiff has failed to produce a shred of reliable evidence to support her claims.”
It added, “Based on the actual and significant evidentiary record, Carter did not rape Ruth and her moving target story does not create a genuine issue where a reasonable jury would return a verdict in her favor.”
The accuser sued Carter in December 2022, alleging “sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress.”

But the ‘Backstreet Boys’ member in his documents claimed, as reported by Us Weekly, “Ruth’s goal was simple — gain as much attention as possible in hopes that Carter would be canceled. For a brief moment, it worked.”

It further noted, “ABC canceled the Backstreet Boys’ Christmas special, A Very Backstreet Holiday, and Carter was left fighting for his innocence and his family."
“Now, over a year later, Carter has obtained all of the evidence necessary to prove that he has been telling the truth all along — he did not rape Ruth or anyone else for that matter.”
The new filing also mentioned that Ruth and two other accusers — Melissa Schuman and a plaintiff only identified as AR — made the “plan to garner fame and extort Carter out of money.”
A pal of Nick Carter dismisses Shannon Ruth’s allegations
Carter even questioned Ruth’s testimony while asserting it was a “factual impossibility”.
As reported by Daily Mail, Ruth claimed that she was assaulted by the ‘As Long as You Love Me’ singer in 2001 following a Backstreet Boys concert.
She alleged that she was invited on his bus, where she was forced to do oral sex on him.
However, a former friend of the vocal group and Carter, named Susan Riggs, testified that she "personally observed Carter exit the venue, board his tour bus and immediately drive away.”

Shannon Ruth ‘repeatedly changed’ her statement
Also, after Ruth sued Carter, he via a statement shared, “This claim about an incident that supposedly took place more than 20 years ago is not only legally meritless but also entirely untrue.”
The statement went on to explain, “Unfortunately, for several years now, Ms Ruth has been manipulated into making false allegations about Nick – and those allegations have changed repeatedly and materially over time.”
“No one should be fooled by a press stunt orchestrated by an opportunistic lawyer – there is nothing to this claim whatsoever, which we have no doubt the courts will quickly realize,” it added.
