How did Corey Haim die?
Haim who co-starred with Eggert in several films including 'Anything for Love' in 1993 and 'Blown Away' in 1992 died from pneumonia at the age of 38 in 2010.
In the forthcoming four-part docuseries 'Baywatch: The American Dream' directed by Matt Felker, Eggert who was part of the 'Baywatch' from 1992 to 1994 will be appearing as the series showcases the onscreen and offscreen live of the 1989 to 2001 series' cast.
Speaking to People about her relationship with Haim, Eggert said she loved being around him but his drug addiction "was scary to me. It was creepy."
"I remember the first time I ever saw cocaine was from him, but he wasn't trying to get me to do anything with him," she recalled.
"It was his own private thing, which in hindsight would feel a little bit strange, but he was never trying to drag me into that," she added.
How did Nicole Eggert and Corey Haim meet?
Eggert and Haim met on the set of the film 'Blown Away' in the '90s and began dating in 1991. The duo split after two years of their relationship in 1993.
The actress said that at the time, she was negotiating her career in acting while dealing with three years of sexual abuse from the ages 14 to 17 she reportedly faced from her 'Charles in Charge' co-star Scott Baio, according to People.
Haim shared with her his experience of being a victim of sexual abuse and trauma but Eggert said she never opened up to him about hers.
"I think I was still just in denial. I mean, I've really been in denial about it until recently when I started unpacking it and being like, 'Okay, here it is,'” the 'Past Lies' actress explained.
"But also I felt ashamed. Unfortunately, you carry shame and you carry embarrassment. I didn't ever want to be seen as a victim. Once I worked through it and I got through it, I didn't like that, so I didn't talk about that," she added.
Nicole Eggert says she did not know how to help Corey Haim when he was out of drugs
The actress further spoke about not knowing how to help Haim when he was out of drugs as she would take him to the hospital in such situations.
"He’d go there [the hospital] to get stuff. When we'd be on set, producers supply it; they'd supply drugs, and prescriptions mostly is what I saw," Eggert revealed.
"But no, if he was having the shakes and freaking out in the middle of the night and wanted to go to the emergency room, I'd take him. Because I wasn't in that head space or in that — I didn't know what to do. I was like, just take him to the hospital if that's where he wants to go," she added.
