NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Social media erupted in fury as the identity of the person orchestrating the "violent" anti-Israel demonstrations at Columbia University was unveiled.

Shockingly, it turns out he's not just any protester, but someone unrelated to the students, married, and the son of millionaire advertising executives.

This bombshell revelation sparked outrage across social media, with many questioning the authenticity of the protests and whether they were fueled by hidden agendas.

The suspicions didn't simply materialize out of nowhere. They were planted by NYC officials, including Mayor Eric Adams and the NYPD, who had previously suggested the potential involvement of external influences in fueling what initially began as a peaceful protest.

According to the Daily Mail, the mastermind behind the recent Columbia University protests has been identified as James Carlson, a 40-year-old with a rather privileged background.

According to reports, he's the son of Richard Tarlow and Sandy Carlson Tarlow, the power couple behind the successful advertising agency Carlson & Partners, known for their work with big brands like Revlon and Victoria’s Secret.

James, also recognized as Cody Carlson or Cody Tarlow, gained attention following his arrest by the NYPD on charges that included burglary and illegal entry during the Columbia protests.

This wasn't his initial brush with the law. Allegedly, he has been associated with anarchist circles for a considerable period and was previously apprehended during the tumultuous G8 protests in San Francisco back in 2005, as per the New York Post.

Despite his privileged upbringing, James pursued an unconventional path, graduating with honors from Brooklyn Law School and embarking on a career as an animal rights lawyer. He has even engaged in undercover investigations to expose animal abuse in factory farms.



 

Adding to the intrigue, James is reportedly married to model Kim Heyrman and resides in a lavish Brooklyn brownstone worth $3.4 million, where he enjoys family life with his two children.

His involvement in the Columbia protests hasn't gone unnoticed. He's suspected of burning an Israeli flag during the demonstrations, and his activism extends to previous incidents of blocking bridges and tunnels, according to NBC News.

The Columbia protests took a violent turn as footage surfaced of protesters causing chaos in Hamilton Hall, resulting in over 100 arrests. Columbia's President was compelled to summon the NYPD to restore order amidst the escalating tensions, which also spilled over to nearby City College New York, as per the Daily Mail.

Internet asserts Columbia University should send the bill of damages to James Carlson

A reader online slammed James for his involvement in the protests and wrote, "He should be sitting in jail with unknown charges like the J6 people. I'm sure they will love him there. But I'm sure Bragg let him out with an apology and a ride home."

Another user wrote, "Individuals that have so much wealth that they think they should be able to overcome and put aside our representative government to force their will on others. Their egos will never allow them to accept the fact that they have ONE VOTE just like everyone else."

A user commented, "It is always the well to do that support these causes because it makes them feel good. They don't care about the plight of the people who are living under horrible conditions. If they did they would do a better job."

Another user commented, "Those with money have the time to protest and make themselves feel relevant. Any hot cause will do.most of us are just trying trying to put food on our table. I would be willing to bet he hasn’t given much money. They never do -just throws a tantrum like an immature 14-year-old. I hope they make him pay for all the destruction."

A user stated, "Each individual who stormed the building should be sued for the damages - when the get out of jail a year or two from now."

Another user stated, "It looks like Columbia has someone to send the bill to for all the damage, cleanup, and repairs that will be required."
